Terrible Teeth? Tips for Restoring Your Pearly Whites

You hear people talking about how important a good set of teeth is all the time. Hollywood actors sport them, businessmen making money have them, even the guy who lives down the street from you has a killer set of pearly whites. So why don’t you?

If you have bad teeth, it can feel like you’re never going to be able to restore them to their natural brilliance. While some challenges are bigger than others when it comes to dental work, there are some things the average person can do.

Use this guide to help you get the teeth you’ve always wanted. At the very least, you can do a whole lot to make your teeth look better than they do right now.

Eat Right!

What you eat matters to your overall health, but it also plays a major role in the life of your teeth. It makes sense when you think about it, but most people don’t alter their diets to benefit their teeth.

Foods like apples, chicken and even cheeses are good for your teeth. It’s the food like simple carbohydrates and sugar that are bad for them. If you eat these foods, eat them in moderation, and always rinse with water before brushing.

Your teeth will thank you down the road.

Don’t Drink That

There’s nothing wrong with drinking a cup of coffee in the morning, and if you’re basically addicted to the stuff, you probably aren’t going to stop now. While skipping the sugar in your coffee can help, those brown stains are not a lot of fun.

To limit them, always drink water with your coffee and brush 30 minutes later. Brushing too soon after eating or drinking acidic things can damage your enamel.

Visit Your Dentist

Of course, it’s obvious that you need to go to the dentist if you want to have healthy teeth. It’s just part of the whole deal, right? Most people who have bad teeth just don’t see the dentist as often as they should though.

Not only will going to the dentist for cleanings and checkups help maintain the integrity of your teeth, it will also give you access to information about how you can improve them. From veneers to fillings and implants, a qualified dentist can help you in the fight against bad teeth.
