Green Thumb for Gardening

Mom always has a green thumb in planting any flower, tree or plant in our garden and backyard. Every single thing that she plants grows abundantly. Since she’s old now and we don’t want her to do any task in the house she concentrates her time on gardening with the help of my husband who does the hard tasks. She would smile every time she sees a bud that blooms and a root that produce stems.

She loves gardening so much that I want to give her some nice garden gifts as I know she’ll appreciate it so much. She’s been telling me few days ago that maybe we should buy more pots so she can distribute her growing flowers on different places. Her enthusiasm is infectious as my husband is into gardening too much to my surprise. Just imagine my astonishment that after 20 years of marriage he’s learning the gardening skills. His brother is a landscaper so maybe he’s got talents too.

Thoughtful Kids

The kids are all excited for the coming Mother’s Day and just now I saw what my eldest daughter did to greet us. As always she’s very creative and artistic in her card. I really find her sweet to do and give me cards like that which reminded me how I also do it for my Mom. I’m happy that she and her siblings are growing up with fond thoughts for us always. At their young age they’re thinking of something to give me on that special day and though I hear their little murmurings on their plans I pretend not to have knowledge on it.

They’re also thinking of some nice grandma gifts for Mom and MIL to show their affection. Of course it’s going to be inexpensive gifts because they don’t have jobs yet but as they say it’s the thought that counts so it matters so much. Wish they could stay that way until they grow older so DH and I would feel so blessed with having three thoughtful kids.

Gifts for Her

Now that holiday season is getting near most of us have a gift list for family, friends and relatives. Since my Dad has passed away already when season like this comes it’s always my Mom that I think first. I’m always reflecting on what would be the Top Xmas Gifts for Her for this year. This time I’m thinking of buying some different gifts in addition to her favorite blouses and pouch bags. She loves drinking milk and coffee and a beautiful customized mug would be perfect. I know she will love to sip her favorite drink on it.  I’d have to think of other gifts too for my dear MIL, sister, SIL and close friends.

Lake Villa Resort Bday Celebration

This is a late post of my Mom's birthday celebration in Lake Villa Resort last May 29 , a day before her real birthday where we spent the whole day of her 78th birthday swimming, eating and relaxing. It was a nice bonding moment for all of us there. We traveled in convoy arriving in 2 vehicles and another 2 cars at lunch time. It was attended by our family in Cainta, hubby's family and our close relatives in our Laguna hometown.
Mom's a happy celebrant with her eyes smiling the whole day through. Our birthday wish? Of course peace, health, love and happiness for our dearest Mom. God has already gave His best gift last year when He has sent one of the most wonderful miracles in Mom's life and that's the gift of seeing again after being blind for 2 weeks. We're not wishing for material blessings as we've received the most important gift of all - God's wonderful love for our family.

Sharing here some pics of our happy outing:

Mom's Birthday!

It’s my Mom’s birthday today and we just made her blow her cake today because we’ve celebrated her birthday already yesterday. We’ve decided to celebrate it one day ahead so everyone can join us. She was so happy as her relatives, nieces, nephews, grandchildren came from Laguna to join her on her 78th birthday. We brought 4 vehicles on Lake Villa Resort in one of the lake towns of Rizal. The scenery was enjoyable and so were the fresh air, vast area and cool waters of the pools. We feasted on pork mechado, lumpiang shanghai, fried chicken, laing, spaghetti, cake, sacks of fruits from Laguna, buco-fruit salad and many more.

We thanked God for giving and keeping Mom with a healthy body, sound mind, kind heart and charming personality. She’s loved by all around her and she’s happy to give her time to all who need some advice from her. Indeed our dear Mom has aged gracefully.

Early Birthday Celebration

We had an early celebration of my Mom’s birthday at Lake Villa Resort. It was made more enjoyable as it was attended by family and our relatives in our hometown in Laguna. I’m so happy that we decided to make it a swimming birthday celebration as it’s so relaxing to do it that way. Well even if I’m tired from all the cooking in the house and in the resort it’s worth it all. Anyway after lunchtime we had all the time in the world to swim, chat, take pictures or just rest and view the pretty scenery by the lake.

After so many years I saw DH relax and had a good time without thinking of the hardship in his work. I and the kids were so glad he was able to come with us now. We enjoyed the kids’ pool that much that we stayed there for more than an hour sitting there and relaxing with the splash of fountain on our faces. Just too tired to post pictures now, maybe I’ll just post when I have a time.

Super Mom

She's the only parent we have since our dad passed away 13 yrs. ago but God has given her enough strength in mind to give us advices and guidance in our life. She has the strong determination to send us all to school even if my dad suffered stroke at the time that I entered high school and brother entered college both in private school. Little sis was only in primary then. Mom made us all graduate with bachelor's degree with her income from teaching and some support from our coconut plantation. Despite her busy schedule at work she also takes care of our dad and never misses to give her time to us when we needed her emotionally, financially and in all aspects of being a supportive Mom.

Now that I'm also a mother she extends her loving care and attention to my kids especially on their school assignments, she never stop being a teacher even for my kids only. She's really a wonder Mom and we're so lucky to have her as our mother. God love us so dearly that He gave us the best Mom ever!

So to all the super Moms there I want to greet you all together with my own Mom a Happy Mother's Day! See some of our pics here!
