United Nations Day Parade

Early in the morning we watched the parade of toddlers from our community’s Day Care Center. I was preparing our breakfast when my kids called to watch the parade going on the street just outside our house. It’s actually a celebration of the United Nations Day and the children were in pairs representing chosen countries of the United Nations wearing their national costumes. Of course the kids were so cute and nice in their costumes, they’re groomed to look like their represented nationalities like Chinese, Americans, Asian etc.

I remembered participating in that kind of parade when my girls Ruth and Gen were 4 years old. Ruth was chosen to be Ms. India and even if she wore no makeup then she really looked like an Indian national with just her natural looks. People were saying that she’s the most look-alike face and they were calling her Ms. India.

I just noticed that celebration of United Nations Day now is much simpler.

Flores De Mayo

We all know that May is the month when flower blooms so beautifully together with different equally pretty ornamental plants. That's why we also chose this month to be our wedding date 12 years ago. I really love the month of May because it brings so many memories of happy childhood playing in the sun with my siblings, cousins and friends, you know I have plenty. Or sometimes playing board games when we want to relax.

That's our usual summer vacation days which was often combined with weekend swimming escapades around the resorts in Rizal towns. It was a happy childhood and teenage years. To coincide with the blooming month and summer vacation, Flores de Mayo was also there to give highlights to this beautiful month, actually it's the month ender. I remember seeing the best Flores De Mayo at the end of the month always.

As you can see here Josh' everyday buddy and friend Carl was beaming with happiness as he and his partner joined the last parade of Flores de Mayo for this year last Saturday May 31. He was looking at us and was excitedly asking if Josh was there to see him, I told him that I'll just take a picture of him because Josh was asleep already.

Bonifacio Day and Founding Anniversary

November and December 1 are our town's founding anniversary and town fiesta celebrated together with Bonifacio Day. Festive day for our town, celebrated with programs and parades all over the town. Yesterday was quite a long parade of townfolks, establishments, government and non-government organizations. The parade took about 2 hours, i think. I was quite amazed at the young motorists who showed some exhibitions yesterday, really young as they're around 4-5 years old only! have included some shots here! Well, got lots of pictures in my other blog Race Corner too!
