Interest in Guitar Playing

My son is starting to show signs of extra interest in playing musical instruments just like her sisters. I already enrolled him in the past in keyboard class and when he was very young a short stint in drums but now he’s trying the guitar. He’s very close to his sister Gen who knows and can play musical instruments on her own learning without formal schooling so maybe his interest increases as they talk about playing some beautiful music on guitar.

During vacation I saw them seriously browsing through online stores for the things they’re curious about like guitar center fairfax and nice accessories for guitar. I love seeing them like that as I also tried in my youth to play musical instruments but I didn’t find enough time and resources to do that so I’m happy enough that my kids will continue my dream of being a guitarist and musician.

Kids’ Music Schooling

When I think about my kids’ hobbies I can’t help returning back to one summer vacation that I enrolled them in our municipality’s free music schooling for kids and teens. I enrolled my daughters who were so young then in their 6th and 7th grade while my son was in grade 1. As young as they were they’re very much interested not just in music but in playing various musical instruments. I know that it comes from the genes of my Mom who have some musicians in their family but their interest is still overwhelming.

The girls had their keyboard classes which they used until now in playing their pieces, the eldest didn’t finished the class because of chicken fox but the two made it until graduation. My little boy was so infatuated with playing drums so I enrolled him and he enjoyed every session of it. When I saw concert toms on my favorite music online store those memories of music schooling keep coming back to me. Josh, now a big boy plans on continuing his drum lessons and we’re planning to do it next school break, maybe on summer vacation.

Skills and Talent Enhancement in School

I’m glad now that my kids have lots of resting and playing time unlike school periods when they have so many assignments and activities. I remember when my daughter spent so many after school hours practicing cheer dance and school plays. I always see her almost drained out because of daily practice aside from her regular academic chores.

Her school trains them to be competent not only on academic subjects but on other fields like arts as well. They also encourage them to be proficient in music and create activities that involve instrument playing and singing. They use a very nice music system like the pro tools student that helps get the best sounding and powerful audio software. When I get to see their musical plays I was amazed by their performance.

New Keyboard for the Recital

My son is into keyboard/piano lessons and in two months’ time he’ll have his recital. He’s using our good old keyboard and he has saved enough for a new keyboard as he wants a new one to play to get ready for his recital. Just after our holiday vacation and fellowship we canvassed into some music stores nearby and we found one that my son approved of.

Well after his several school activities this week he asked me to help him visit musicans friend just in case we can afford the price because one of his music classmate told him about the store. Now we just have to wait until he decides and we’ll buy him his new keyboard even if we have to add a little more.

Loves to Be Home Every Weekend

My nephew who is also Josh’ classmate in his fourth grade class has been showing interest in joining the taekwondo class. I was surprised actually because last year he enrolled in a special class of playing violin. My brother brought him two violins, one for his home use and the other one is for his school learning. They were trained for real and at some occasions in school program activities they were asked to play a piece. Well they were also informed of the difference of their regular violin to electric violin but for the school music course they were only allowed to use the manual kind.

The training is done every weekend and they pay separate fees for that because their instructor is not from the same school. It’s offered in school to enhance the skills of students in whatever they’re inclined to but it’s optional. My own son Josh chose Art as his extracurricular activity and the club that he also joined in. He didn’t want to study music on Saturdays because it’s his rest day from school. He told me that he can learn it at home instead of going to school every Saturday just to play violin. This year he told me of his interest in guitar or violin but he’s not willing if it’s going to be on Saturdays again. He really loves his Weekend to spend with us.

Saving for Better Quality Guitar for the Kids

We need to drop by the nearest music store to buy extra guitar strings for my kids’ acoustic guitar because one of the strings gave in. We must buy replacement strings because the kids are spending this summer vacation to learn playing it. Well the nearest is actually far from our place and we’re considering asking our church mates to buy it for us because they live near the place where we bought the guitar.

I have noticed that strings are easily worn out when the kids play it every day so we really must have some stocks for future usage. Maybe it’s not that easy to wear out if it’s made from quality materials like ibanez from musicians friend. Their guitars are made from high quality mahogany wood and all other additions are quite durable also. Guitars are so compact and very comfortable to play with. Well I need to save for the kids’ next guitar because I want such kind of guitars.
