Camp Meeting Plans and Preparation

We had a meeting yesterday afternoon about the incoming December camp meeting in the prayer garden place we used to held our outdoor church activities. As always reminders for the 3-day camp meeting were given including the needed preparation for 3-day food, clothing, emergency kit, fellowship program and schedule and a lot more activities for our yearly camp meeting.

As we were doing it for several years now, way back when my kids were still babies I know the things that I need to prepare when it comes to camp meetings. I’m the kind who prepares things over the needed amount so to explain my heavy baggage. I don’t want to be insufficient of anything that we’ll need for the camp because more often our camp site is very far from market and stores. I would want Camp Trunks to place all our things needed which we could also use even after the camp.

Well now our present site is only one town away from where we live so baggage should not be too heavy and we could plan a nice midnight dinner on the 24th because we’re not that far from where we could buy food supplies. We just need to buy all we need for our menu the day before we need it to prevent rush and lack of stocks. Actually I was the one assigned to shop for the ingredients of our agreed menu and I should do it earlier to prevent hassles.

Preparing for the Next Holiday

The long holiday season is over and we’re back to regular programming of life, work and the daily activities of everyday living. Still I remember those gifts I received and gave last month and was thankful that I was able to share my blessings again this year. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to work hard, save money and be able to buy those holiday gift ideas I have in my mind next holiday because it will bring happiness to my loved ones.

Speaking of holiday I learned that this coming Holy Week will be a long holiday again as it will be followed by National Heroes day. We’re all looking forward again on that day where we will have our regular summer camp fellowship meeting. I should start looking for tents now as our 7-year old tent has shown expiration already and we should have replacement for it as we’re going to sleep on tents on Holy Week activities.

Early Preparation for the Camp Meeting

With the plan in my mind to spend December camp meeting in Baguio I have desire to prepare our things early. I’ve listed down some important things that I should buy ahead of time to prevent overflow of expenses on the last quarter of the year. It’s always like that to me when it comes to budgeting and expenses, everything is purchased on the last part of the year.

Anyway first things first as we should buy new travelling bags for the kids. I want high quality bags this time and though I want something like dakine backpacks I think I can wait for some time before buying one with that brand. What’s important now is to buy everything we need earlier so we will not be rushed and my budget won’t be affected.  Early preparation is always better and economical.

Heading Off to Our Summer Camp

As I'm writing this we're getting ready for our travel to Tagaytay City for our December camp meeting 4-day fellowship service. It's not actually in Tagaytay City but very near this town - in Indang, Cavite. We'll be staying in Villa Dominga Forest Resort and we'll be sleeping on tents. In an hour or so we'll finish packing up our bags to our car and start the long travel up South. To my ec friends I hope to drop by your sites on Monday when we come back here in Metro. I wish you all peace, love and happiness on the coming holidays.

:Thursday Challenge - Youth (Children)

"YOUTH" (Young, Energetic, Optimistic, Children, Baby, Education,...)

These are the young energetic CHILDREN in our Church Sunday school and this picture was taken in our camp meeting last December. They were having some games here as they were being taught by our youth teachers. The children like the place there in Villa Dominga because they can run and have games with so much space and fresh air while we were just nearby at the conference hall having fellowship service. We'll go there again on December and my kids are all excited, they're counting the days now!

See more Thursday Challenge 'Youth' entries here!

Spending Holidays and Vacation

We had a final meeting yesterday for our church holiday camp meeting on December. We’ve already reserved for our camp site which will be in Villa Dominga Resort in Indang, Cavite just beside Tagaytay City. It’s a 4 hectare villa resort cum plantation with conference halls for fellowship. We didn’t reserve for rooms because we’re sleeping on tents and the conference hall is so big that we can also use the back area for our belongings. We will be at the camp site for four days so we listed all things that must be brought in order not to forget necessities. The place is far from market and grocery so all we must bring everything we need.

I can still remember our last stay there where we had fellowship services, communion, footwashing ceremony and bonfire. It was a very fulfilling camp meeting and a little bit vacation for us all. So when some people are out there in Colorado having their ski vacations to enjoy good times with their families we’re out there in the villa to enjoy the holiday in fellowship with our brethren. Different ways of spending holidays and vacation but both are enjoyable.

Warm Protection

On our last camp meeting in Villa Dominga we're welcomed by a very low temperature which was not a shock to us as our Pastor already warned us that we should bring bonnets, sweaters, jackets, socks and anything that will keep us warm and protected from too much cold. Of course we wouldn’t go there without those things and my beanie to ensure protection from head to toe. We always go to our campsites well prepared because staying there for 3 or more days will not be that fulfilling if we will be sick from too much cold.

Our 3-day December camp meeting was such a success and we felt that three days were not enough, if only we have more days to spare. The place was fantastic and very nice, fellowship service refreshed our spiritual being and we were very happy with our camp meeting which served also as a kind of vacation for us even though our time was spent on fellowship. We’ve already made our reservation for Holy Week.

Our Fellowship

Second day of our fellowship and the day was full of testimonies and choir presentations from children, youth and the elders. Of course the most important of all were the exhortation from the ministers and the messages from the day's assigned speakers especially from our dear pastor.

The children were well managed by the assigned youth and they've scheduled plenty of activities for them including drawing, playing of games, moulding of clay and many others just as long as the subject is biblical. It's a way of teaching them and to keep them busy so their mommies will be able to hear God's word.

After the afternoon service we held our communion and footwashing which we do every time we have our camp fellowship. It gives a feeling of refreshed spirit especially when you personally talk to Him before accepting the unleavened bread and drinking the wine. As for the footwashing it was known to be the most humble work you will do for your brethren and it also will give you a feeling of meekness and somehow gets you more closer to your brethren.

Bonfire At The Camp

God has given us a good weather for our camp meeting. We prayed for the sun to shine because we’re using our tents and planned to sleep on it. We also had our bonfire on the first night of our fellowship. We prayed for the stars and not the rain and God has given us what we prayed. It was really a cold night and the fire in the middle of us gave us warmth to stay there for about two hours. We had barbeques and a lot of sharing.

Travel To Our Camp Site

Wow! Just got back from a three-day camp meeting fellowship in Indang, Cavite just a few kilometers away from Tagaytay. Actually we passed by Tagaytay on our way to our camp site. It was a safe and nice travel with slight rain showers along to give us a colder temperature inside the car, actually I’m chilling lol!

After just a few hours we reached our new camp site – Villa Dominga Forest Resort in Lumampong, Halayhay, Indang, Cavite, a 6 hectare land full of flowering shrubs, fruit trees, resort, retreat house and conference halls. The place is so nice and wide that all the kids ran through the grassy fields outside the conference hall while we were arranging our things. That’s so perfect for the camp meeting activities for children.

Here’s sharing some of our pics on our first day:

Our God Shall Supply All Our Needs

We always held our summer camp and december camp meeting fellowship in one of the mansion in Tagaytay, the owner became our pastor's friend and we had a good christian relationship with him. Being a born-again christian in their own community Pastor Dick committed his house for our regular fellowship on holidays which is commonly on Holy Week and Christmas holidays. Pastor Ed called him up to pay for reservation fee happily looking forward to a day of sharing God's word to his Pastor friend and closing the place for our use on december.

He was surprised when Pastor Dick declined the reservation fee and apologized for letting the Belgian national rent his place on a one-year contract starting October 2008 up to 2009. Pastor Ed was dismayed and started to worry about the place that we're going to use for our fellowship. His son-in-law, a minister also in our church immediately rounded up the places in Tagaytay and nearby towns to look for a replacement. With God's providing hand He gave us a better alternative for the place that we lost to a wealthy foreigner. We will be paying our reservation fee next week on Villa Dominga Forest Resort on Halyjay, Indang Cavite. Just look at the picture here and you'll see why I called it a better alternative. When God provides it must be not just good but better isn't it?

December Camp Meeting In Tagaytay

We spent a couple of days in Tagaytay City as we praised and worshipped the reason for this Christmas season 'Jesus Christ'. We started traveling very early in the morning meeting brethren in Fairview at Pasig City around 3am then we headed off to GMA Cavite where we met our Pastor and brethren in Sta. Ana. All five vehicles then headed to Tagaytay City reaching our destination before the sun shines. It was very cold in Tagaytay especially when the wind blows, one jacket is not enough to get warm. It was a very fulfilling fellowship, a kind of retreat for all of us. Everyone cooperated with their assigned duties and responsibilities. The youth and mothers took care of the sunday school with their bible lessons and games. The sisters took turns in helping our dear master cook Sis. Cresing and the ministers had their time of sharing God's word especially our Pastor who dedicate his precious time teaching and sharing his God-given revelation and wisdom in God's word. Everybody worked as one body in Christ especially in our Communion and Feetwashing. We met the owner of the mansion Pastor Dick who shared God's word before we left the place, he was a very humble and kind person. We were very happy and fulfilled when we finally left the place.
