Nice Morning With My Kids and Sis

Had a great time with Redge and my three kids, Ruth, Gen and Josh. Redge and my two girls planned their jogging and badminton yesterday because of a long weekend brought about by EDSA Revolution Holiday. Actually I've planned on doing assignments here but Josh asked me to follow her two sisters and Tita on their planned activities. I had no choice as I can't stand Josh' look of sadness that he was left out by his sisters. We followed immediately and found the three very easily because Redge called me earlier to set our meeting place. They were at the back of the mall in Ortigas Ave. and already had their badminton time there. Josh was very happy to see Ruth and Gen as if they haven't seen each other for days lol! Being there with them made me realized that it's been awhile since I relaxed and rested, really I've been overworking myself - working five days a week consuming almost 12 hours of my day preparing for office, commuting and working then blogging at night. I really need some rest and I'm glad Josh and I followed them. After jogging and playing badminton we shopped for Ruth's girl things, played basketball at Tom's world and ended our morning activity in Jollibee with our brunch (breakfast-lunch :-)). Everyone happy and promised to do it again one of these weeks ahead of us.

Debt Help

Buying things through credit card can be nice and fun but paying off the bills can be so sad. People are excited whenever they were approved to have a credit card but having one can be really tempting, the reason why some people tend to overuse credit cards. I remember my mother’s advice to us when we had our first job, she said that in order for us to save money and budget it in a right way is 'Do not buy what you do not need' and Do not need what you cannot buy.' This has been her principle in life ever since she took the responsibilities of both a father and a mother when my father suffered a mild stroke in his early 50's. My mom was working as a public school teacher then and she braved all hardship of a sole breadwinner in the family for us to finish our college education.

I experienced having a credit card and some of my bills were spent to please relatives or friends. You just can’t have perfect control over your credit card when the need arises but it’s perfect if you only charge your purchases to card and when the billing comes you'll pay in full to evade interest. A friend few months ago sought help from me to arrange her credit balances with a certain bank. And because at that time I’ve already paid all my balances and confident enough of my knowledge in dealing I talked to her bank and arrange some things for her balance to be minimized. Our deal minimizing 50% of my friend’s card balances went good and my friend was relieved. As I was browsing the net I got interested in one site that offers debt help which helps in eliminating bad credits. They offer advices on how to choose the right debt consolidation company, manage finances and learn to live within your means which is the best key to a non debt life. Their company provides not for profit debt help counseling to people in need for credit counseling, debt settlement and debt consolidation. They have expertise in the field of counseling. So if you want to gain back your good credit standing and your self-esteem ruined by bad credits call them now at 1-877-994-0998 and seek their help.

Reminiscing EDSA 1

It's a holiday today as the country commemorates EDSA 1 & 2 Revolution, a very historical event in the life of the Filipinos and been celebrated for over two decades now as I remember the EDSA 1 happened when I was still in college 22 years ago, that's really a history. I still remember those days when people from all walks of life marched to the corner of Ortigas Avenue and EDSA where the EDSA shrine is now located it also extended to Katipunan Avenue near Corinthians and White Plains.
As we were teens then we wanted to explore and see everything that's happening but our parents warned us not to go there as it we heard there were many soldiers and no one knew what will happen. That day Filipinos showed their unity and love for country. This also paved the way for a remarkable change of scenery and life in my school PUP which was known to be an activist school. Management was replaced by the good old school president and PUP began to have good changes with the security of students enhanced and the spirit of the whole university uplifted. I was relieved not to see again the very frequent rallies and barricade in our school. Peace finally landed my school.

I am tagging Geng, JennyR and Emzkie.

Here’s the rule:

1. Post YOUR photo wearing red, may it be a red top, bottom, the least would be red accessories if you hate wearing red… If you can’t find one, you still have an option…. Either post your Significant Other’s photo or your child’s photo, if you have one. Of course, they should be wearing red.

2. Let us know the reason why you were wearing red that particular day. Was it your birthday? Is red your fave color or was it the shirt that you first saw in your closet that day?

3. Tag 3 people close to your heart. By the way, they have to be in your blogroll. No cheating heart please!

4. Once you’re tagged, could we please keep it going - just for this month?

Lola's Memorial

We've made ourselves ready early in the morning for final goodbye to Lola 'coz we didn't want to be late. Had my kids clothed with white tops as instructed by Ed's mom. Travel to Sandigan area was quite long, it took us an hour and a half crossing from Cainta to Marikina to San Mateo and finally to Litex. I'm all alone with my three kids as my hubby wasn't allowed to go onleave again as he's on leave for a couple of days already within the week. We've finally made it through Litex and there the whole clan of Abug was there, a big clan I should say. As we made our way inside the house we were introduced to relatives, aunties and uncles, Josh love the attention that he's getting, this kid is really not a shy one. After a couple of hours, we readied all things and finally made our way to St. Peter's Memorial Park, a 30-minute ride and there we found ourselves near the place they called "Erap City". Felt like you're in a park in a province, very new and serene place. With this ambience Uncle Floren, Auntie Lily, Tatay and Uncle Titoy said their goodbyes and offered their prayers to their mother together with all the nieces, nephews, grandkids and relatives of Lola. She's now rested in peace.

Lola Has Passed Away

We were on Nanay Rosing's house last Saturday when we learned that my hubby's granny died early in the morning. It was a sad thing for me as Ed hasn't paid her a visit a couple of months now since his job took most of his time leaving him just the Sunday Fellowship to attend to, no more time for visiting relatives and his family in fairview. Lola Sima was a really nice granny, whenever I call her from my office she always has a lot of stories to tell, she even talked to me in Waray language forgetting that I won't be able to understand her but nevertheless it was always fun talking to her, I'll surely miss that.

After Sunday service we headed straight to Lola even if our backlight failed, we just traveled in moderate speed with hazard lights on. With God's guidance we reached the place safely but we never risked ourselves into traveling again at night, we waited for the light in the morning before we finally go home. We stayed the night there with Ed's Uncle giving hubby's important documents stored in their house, my hubby stayed with his Lola, Uncle and Auntie when he's still single before we got married. So his uncle is like a father to him also.

During our short stay there amidst the visitors who paid visits to Lola, Ed had a nice sharing with Uncle Floren about our faith and God's word. He has an open-minded heart so their sharing went smoothly. I just can't control my tired eyes and body and decided to rest for a while and after some minutes they also rested leaving Uncle and one relative to watch over. We wanted to stay more but the kids will go to school before 7am so at around 5am we headed home just in time for the kids' service and for me to prepare our things for our office works. Ed will be there later in the evening again and will stay the night again.

Ciudad Christia's Nine Waves

Had fun in Ciudad Christia’s Nine Waves, it’s like an outing of the Abug and Tebrero family. It’s also a birthday celebration of Ate Zeny’s daughter Megan who just turned 9 last January 24. As they flew all the way from England to have a 2-week vacation here they chose to celebrate Megan’s birthday here in the Philippines to be with her Filipino relatives especially her cousins. Got plenty of food – cakes, pasta, maja, biko, hotdogs, barbeques, lumpiang shanghai and ubod, adobo, egg pies, I can’t remember all lol!
The place was nice and the waves were great as the pool resembles a seaside with waves rolling down the pool like you’re in a beach. Kids were shouting and yelling as the watery waves splashed unto their bodies almost toppling them down. I didn’t swam as Ed wasn’t there to watch over them, I’m like a life guard watching my three kids’ as they endlessly swam the water. They only rest to eat some food and during the singing of happy birthday to Megan. Megan was also happy as she patiently blew the candle amidst the wind. Glad she liked my kids’ gift though it was only a Word Factory. Ate Zeny told me that she likes playing that game. Actually it’s my favorite game when I was a kid (until now lol). I had difficulty in convincing my kids to stop swimming to get ready for home as they really never want to go home J. Had lots of food so we all packed some pasalubong for those who didn’t make it to Megan’s birthday.

Quirky Things About Me

I have been tagged by my new friend. Gamay thanks for sharing this to me.

Here goes - let me indulge you the 6 quirky or not so normal things about me-:)

1. I like to eat desserts with something salty beside it (e.g. fruit salad with lumpiang shang-hai) I felt incomplete when eating sweet foods without salty ones.

2. I love to cook but I’m not that keen on tasting my final cooked menu, now I’m studying cooking without tasting (just like Jewel in the Palace)

3. I can’t stand the sight of a bird locked in a cage, I like them flying on open spaces. Small cages for bird or some animals seem like a very hard habitat for them.

4. When I’m over pressured it only takes one chocolate bar or a strong cup of coffee to wipe the pressure out of my system

5. I always take pictures whenever I want especially now that I’m a blogger I take pictures of almost anything worth writing for – foods, funny moments, places, babies and many other things, believe me I’m always like that lol!

6. I can’t seem to breathe on closed-door places or confined rooms. I’m a claustrophobic person.

Actually I have many other quirky things about me. I’m tagging everyone on my list here. Feel free to get it if you want.
