Safety First

In looking for a job we must ensure that we don’t only think of the compensation that we will be getting from our job but our safety as well. This is true especially on manufacturing companies which operates using various heavy equipment and machines. I visited many factories on my kids’ educational tour and I’ve observed that they have strict rules on operation to be sure no one will get hurt and to avoid occurrence of machine accidents. If only the companies in the last decades were careful enough with their usage of asbestos there would be no cases of malignant Mesothelioma in this present times.

This disease was diagnosed as the result of exposure to asbestos. Sad thing about this case is that it can be avoided if only the companies have proper guidelines and warning about the bad effects of exposure to asbestos. Better avoid companies like this when you apply for job. Ask about the company’s background, business and history of labor cases before you start working for them.

Working Comfortably in My New Table

I’m happy with my new buys last month because I was able to get an office furniture for a very affordable price. It’s a pre-owned office table about 4 feet wide with 2 filing drawers and big enough to accommodate my PC desktop, my big monitor, my mobile and landline phones and some other peripherals. I’ve given up using my computer table because I can’t work comfortably.

With my new table I can place my books, notebooks and be able to rest my left arm while typing because I have all the space I want. It’s actually big if you only have a small office room, luckily we have enough space for it here in our house. So now I’m very comfortable with my new setup placing the new table outside the room where my PC used to be. It’s more convenient and I can accept visitors while doing my tasks because I placed it beside our extra sofa.

My Home Office

I had a talk with my boss regarding my long overdue resignation and finally he granted what I’m asking for. I couldn’t be happier with the current change in my life and now I’m having some plans on putting up my own business and setting up my own little office at home.

After three weeks I’m leaving my work and as I’m doing freelance writing job I wanted to do it in an office atmosphere even if I’m at home. As early as now I’m looking for office furniture that would suit my requirements and needs, one that I can work with ease and comfort just like when I’m in an office. I want to work that way and in a specified area to have a discipline on my time and to balance my household work with my freelance works. I know I can do that with just a little planning ahead of time.

Experience Exchange Workshop

Finally we had the Experience Exchange workshop which was recently postponed for a much convenient day which for me is Friday, the last of our working week. Participants were employees of sister companies Design Science, Inc. and BT&T Telecoms. workshop started at 8:30 and finished at 5:00pm leaving a touch of closeness among the two companies of our dear boss,Sir Bob. The occasion was arranged and managed by Ms. Berry up to the last details of the workshop including food.
Experience exchange was a time that we shared and validated the best of our Work life. It's the time that we knew one another by listening each opinion and views what's the meaning and relevance of integrity and stewardship in the workplace and how we understand its application in the concrete. The objectives of this workshop is to help us understand that no man is an island and good working relationship is imperative and very crucial in our work life. As employees we come to office to work 8-5 everyday from Mondays to Fridays but due to pressures of work we never really took the time to understand the basic key to a successful workmanship.
This workshop has encouraged all of us to pursue greater level of openness and teamwork which is vital in our work to achieve our goals and objectives in doing our assigned duties and responsibilities.
Mr. Danny Carreon our workshop guru was very enthusiastic in asking us if we're enjoying the workshop and I'm so eager to tell him that it's great doing this kind of thing, makes us realize the value of a good steward in our workplace and accept our little flaws as employees. The mission of this workshop is for us to be a committed men and women of action.
In the afternoon we had our group team exercise of airplane building contest to exercise our teamwork and apply what we learned earlier about integrity, stewardship, workmanship, good group planning and working as a team to achieve goals and objectives in achieving projects.
