:WW- Ruth's Graduation

My eldest kid is now moving up to secondary school and I'm posting her graduation pics here! She graduated from primary school last April 5 after the holy week and I had a very busy schedule so I'm just posting it now. Just look at our picture together, looks like another year or so and she'll be taller than me. She really grow up fast and I just wish that even if she looks like a young lady now she's still my Baby Ruth. I'm going to enroll her in a Christian School and I hope that she'll be more guided there and I asked her to be more focused in her studies now. She didn't get an honor but she has high grades on all her subjects. God Bless and guide her on her next endeavor.

Forgive me for being wordful again, I forgot it's for wordless wednesday. Click the badge for more entries!

Josh' Moving Up Ceremony

MellowYellowBadge
Before the Ceremony

Align Center With Friends With Lola DearJosh graduated from preparatory school last Monday the 22nd day of March and we're all excited about his last moving up ceremony as preparatory student. He's going to move up to primary schooling next school year and the whole family is all giddy about it. I had tons of pics (as always) and I just picked some for this site. I'll be posting some on my other blogs.

For this year he got the 2nd place, the Best in Reading award and that makes it three in a row. On his nursery he got the 2nd place also and last year in his kinder class he got the 1st place making him the class valedictorian. He also have a Loyalty Award because he's been in St. Audrey since nursery. This is the first time that he didn't have a piece to speak as in the last two years he's the one who delivers the speech for the giving of certificates to the honors. The speech was in Filipino language and I think it's more appealing to the graduates and parents. My opinion only of course!

As always St. Audrey is on time with the graduation ceremony finishing it before the kids gets tired much to my relief! We started at 8:30 am and before 10am we've finished with the photo shoot. We headed to our house to pick Mom and ate at Josh' fave KFC. At lunch time we brought packed foods to Ruth & Gen.

Job Opportunities

It’s the graduation month and I have two graduating students here in our house but they’re only graduating from preparatory and another one in elementary. Still I’m so busy with looking and searching for appropriate schools for them. I’m done with my eldest and she has already passed the entrance exam and for my little boy I’m just waiting for some requirements needed for the entrance exam. Well for those who graduated from college it’s one of the most fulfilling moments in their lives as they’re slowly reaching out for their dreams.

Every graduate has dreamed of landing a good job that will give them an opportunity to earn money and help their families. Some wanted to look for a job here but others who have higher ambitions want to try their luck on international employment like jobs in Philadelphia where they can reach their dreams of having a good-paying job. Some get lucky when they heed the call for getting a job somewhere far and across the globe. But others find themselves risking their lives by working on dangerous countries where there’s war. It’s good to dream and aim high but with limitations on the safety of your job location. Remember that John’s luck may not be lucky for Peter. It means that we have different talents, skills and wisdom and we should be able to accept the blessings that came our way. We should be happy for those who succeeded in their career and thank God for the smallest of blessings that we receive everyday.

Fully-Booked Schedule

I have plenty of scheduled activities tomorrow concerning the school of my kids. I have PTA Officers meeting and another meeting with graduation committee. Janet gave me the list of people to write letter to complete the necessary documents for the venue and the program. I have to make 3 letters for the administrative officer of the village we’re renting the venue from, another letter informing the Superintendent of our chosen venue for graduation and the last one for the high school principal where we will be hiring cadets for the graduation ceremony.

I have to remind myself that I also need to get some cardboard display quotation just in case we’ll need some. Janet and I are lucky to have each other always as a team because she’s the president of the graduation committee and I’m the secretary. As always I’ll have to do all documentations but its fine as long as I’m only in the background, I’m good at being an assistant.

Josh’ Kinder Graduation!

Once again it’s our little kid’s kinder graduation, the second time since he started schooling. We’re all happy to know that our little son once again included in the honor roll. Last year on his nursery graduation he got the second place and now he finally made it to the top, forgive me for being like this, you know mommies being always proud of their kids!
We’re relieved that their schedule was set in the morning and we arrived just in time for the ceremony. I let Josh run over his speech in the car to make sure he got the right pauses. He was assigned to deliver the speech on the giving of honors and he delivered it well. St. Audry Learning Center was as always disciplined with their time sked and we were finished after more than an hour. We dropped by Ruth and Gen’s school and asked their teachers to let them consume their one and a half break time with us.
We celebrated the occasion in their favorite chicken fast food. I heard Josh saying that he’s happy that we have my mom with us, he’s so close to his granny and wanted her to be with us always, talk about granny-grandson bonding lol!

Here's to share some pics:
Of course my sis Redge - Josh' Tita Mama was there to take pics
and to see Josh deliver speech and graduate!

Josh' Graduation Practice

I’ve attended Josh graduation practice yesterday after I’ve dropped by Ruth’s school to watch her stage play. All parents or guardians are required to attend to achieve an orderly graduation ceremony on Friday. The practice lasted only for about an hour because the preschoolers already know what they will do.

This year Josh was again assigned the speech for the awarding of honors and even though he’s not very keen on memorizing his speech he delivered it quite well. Just need to practice on the pauses after the sentences because kids are really like that they seem to put periods and pauses the way they want it lol! Josh has a clear and strong voice if he’s in the mood but sometimes he makes fun of himself when he talks. After the practice we ended our time in the school eating dirty ice cream, not dirty of course just the name lol!

Ruth Assists The Graduates!

Early morning I accompanied Ruth to their meeting place - in their school but when we arrived there before 7am we discovered that we're the first to arrive there. I was wondering why the other 9 girl scouts weren't there, I was asking Ruth if she got the time right when someone waved to us, her teacher. Teacher Fely told us that graduation is really 8am and the reason why they told the students that they should be there at 7am was for them to be prepared early, anyway can't take the hours back now. She told me to leave Ruth to her so I can go to office and not is late, she's really nice.

My daughter and 9 other girl scouts will assist in the graduation rites of the grade six students; they will handle small things but nevertheless will be of much help to their teachers in a small little way. I saw Ruth's excitement in the coming activities so I let her volunteered to be one of the group. She woke up and dressed early. I just made sure that she has eaten her breakfast well and we went to school. I backed her up when her daddy asked why she will go when there are others who are a lot older than her. I told him Ruth wanted to experience being an assistant in a grand activity in her school so I let her commit herself. I even talked to my friend Annie, mommy of her classmate to look after Ruth and she volunteered her husband to bring her home. Annie was a co-PTA officer for four years and we became good friends ever since so we help each other on whatever way we can. Good friends are really dependable, thanks Annie!

Ruth was very happy telling me what happened when I called her from my office, she was very excited when she told me what they did, watched and ate. I'm glad I let her participate in school activity and made her happy!

My Son's First Little Speech

Josh was given the task of speaking before the nursery graduating class 2007-2008, his speech is an introduction of the awarding ceremony for the outstanding graduates. Before the graduation day he resisted practicing the lines over and over and said that he doesn't want to repeat the speech again and again. On the final practice day when it's his turn to speak he got shy on the second stanza and forgot the final remaining line. It worried me because I will not be able to monitor his practice because I have office works and his lola always follow him if want to practice or not. You know the lolas, they're always spoiling the little kids and giving them what they want - most of the time. His daddy took over, he practiced him on the day before graduation with a microphone and finally Josh did the practice on his own getting the feel of speaking with microphone, little kids are really like that, they want it their own way. On his graduation day, I'm a little nervous for Josh but I'm also confident that my son can do it because he knows the lines, it's just a thing about moods of the kids. With God's help he delivered it accurate and clear.

Josh' Graduation

It's Joshua's graduation today and we've set our time earlier than the assembly time to prevent rushing over things and I'd like also to shoot a picture of the site without the people. We're a little far from school but since it's a lazy afternoon hour there's no traffic and within 5 minutes we're there already, we're the first family to arrive. As it's still early I called the teachers of my daughters and asked permission to fetch them one hour earlier as they want to see and hear their baby brother deliver his speech on stage. They're a couple of stage sisters lol! We're almost complete I mean the whole family and Redge too. She wants to see his dear nephew on his first graduation, after all Josh is like her own son. The program went smoothly but instead of Ed awarding the medal he blackout and told me that almost all parent on stage were Mommies so I better be the one to go on stage. So you'll find me here accompanying Josh. Mommies got so touched by the flower giving ceremony and I saw three in silent tears. It's really like that when you really think and feel it you'll really cry :-). The top honor students were given the tasks of praying, leading the songs, introducing the graduates and Josh was given the introduction for the award-giving ceremony. I was a little nervous and can't seem to look directly to my son's eyes for fear that he might linger on looking at me. Thanks to God he delivered the speech clear and accurate. He was given the second honor award and right after the medal was given to him he asked me if he did it right, I said to him "You're very good Josh" and he's all smiles at me, very happy at his small accomplishment. He got thumbs up sign also from the teachers and that put a smile on his eyes.

Graduation Practice

Josh has already finished his 3-day fourth periodical exam last week and the day after that they started practicing the march of the graduates. He would come home singing the march rites or whatever song assigned to him. He’s really very excited that ever since they practice graduation rites he would come to me every early morning and will ask me ‘is it our graduation march today mom? Then I would always answer how many more nights to go before their graduation.

Last Friday night I was handed a short paragraph phrase for Josh to memorize for their graduation rites. He will speak before the little crowd meaning also that he’s got for himself an award. The school didn't told us who are the honors, they will announce it on the last day of graduation practice but those who were given speech are sure to get an award. His little short speech titled was titled Receiving of Award.
