Loving Everything About Him

One month from now we’ll have our 16th wedding anniversary and when I think about those 16 years it feels like few years only. I really can’t believe we’ve been husband and wife for those long years except that our eldest will turn 15 on August and that’s our sign in counting our years, she was born three months after our first wedding anniversary. Looking back at those years I couldn’t remember a time that we lost our love for each other. It’s still the same as when we first said our vow of promise to each other and when we put our rings on each other’s finger.

Well we don’t have those diamond solitaire rings other couples have but we have forever in our heart and that’s what matters most. As we fondly sings the line ‘even if our hair is gray already’ when we were just newly married it remains that way now that we have some few real gray hairs. Love is like that you’ll love every bit of the person not only the good things about him but the imperfections as well.

My Parents’ Wedding Anniversary

After the long holiday season the mall I passes through every day is again busy with shoppers for wedding gifts. There are several weddings for the first month of the year, I remember my own parents married 4th of January 1964 and even though Mom was widowed 14 years ago we still remember clearly the happy celebration of their wedding anniversaries.

My Father is the most thoughtful of husband during their time and he lavished Mom with beautiful and memorable gifts. He didn’t gave my Mom any of the diamond necklaces I’ve seen in online sites but he was always the best in choosing the gifts that Mom love so much. Now is their wedding anniversary again and when I greeted Mom she began telling me how sweet was my Dad to her. They love each other so much.

:RT-Our 14th Wedding Anniversary

This is a late post of our anniversary last May 4 but I just want to post this one as my thanksgiving to God for the 14 wonderful years of our married life. For the first time we dined out with the kids because it feels great to celebrate it with the joys of our married life. They requested for their chosen pizza restaurant and we succumbed. We ate Pesto Chicken Penne, Florence-Viva Italian Pizza, Garlic Bread and Caesar Salad. We were so happy.

I count my marriage as one of the best blessings of God on me as He gave me the best partner in life. When I talk of the best it doesn’t mean that He has the best of everything or excels in the best fields but the best for me and my kids. We could never ask for more just more quality time with their Daddy as he has a very tight schedule in his work.

He has never changed as when I first met him. He’s the same sweet, caring and loving person and through all the years that we’ve been together we’ve grown more in love with each other. Our secret? Not much I can say as we’re just simple and ordinary couples. We’ve just kept God as the center of our relationship and our family. We’re not the perfect couple and I can’t say that few times we had our own share of little misunderstandings but God has kept us in His arms and helped us survived the trials of marriage.

Time flies so fast and we’re glad that after 14 years we’re still in love and happy to spend the coming days, months and years of our lives. Actually we’re surprised a little that it’s been 14 long years already and if not for the few white hairs on our head and the kids growing up fast I can say that it feels like yesterday when we vowed to God that we’re going to love each other for life. It’s been a joke when we’re only starting up that DH will love me ‘kahit maputi na ang buhok ko’ (even if I’ll have white hairs already) and now it’s starting to show up on both of us lol!

True to his words I can say that he never fails to say and show his love everyday. I may not have the most beautiful mansion, the most expensive cars or the best riches on earth but I have with the most precious husband that God has given me. I feel so blessed in knowing that God is good all the time.

13 Years of Being Married!

Another year has passed and we’ve come a long way from where we first began. We’ve shared many things along the way not only happiness but also sadness, not only success but failures, not only courage but fear and through all the challenges in life we also shared our faith in Jesus. We made it the center of our relationship and every time we felt like giving up it’s the hand of God who always brings us up. How wonderful God’s love is!

Through all the 13 years of having lived as husband and wife I came to know the person that I love dearly. His love holds us together despite many odds and circumstances. Everyday I thanked God that He has given me Ed for my partner in life, not only as husband and father to our kids but also a friend as well. He may not always hear it from me but I love him so much.

Remembering our story and good times together first as friends until we finally took our vows always gives me a smile on my heart and I’ll never be tired of sharing it.
