Mom's 80th Birthday Celebration in Tramway Buffet

 buffet for desserts
buffet for meals

This is a late posting of my Mom's 80th birthday last May 30.  We're so blessed to celebrate her birthday and so thankful that at her age she's in the best of health in body and in mind and I must say still beautiful. Her happiness lingers in her eyes as she spends the day with the closest family, her children (us), her grand kids, in-laws and relatives.

We were planning her birthday as early as January but decided before month of May that we'll have it somewhere nice and cozy instead of having it in our house.  We want to enjoy the moment of bonding with the family that we've chosen a simple cozy buffet restaurant so everyone can relax while enjoying the chit chat and food.

As expected we all had a great time especially the little boys who were tricked by my brother to eat 10 dishes or desserts or they will pay charges lol.  Kuya did it because Matt didn't want to eat most of the times so with Kuya's little game he made Josh and Matt taste most of the dishes in very small portions.

Mom was so happy and relaxed as seen from her glowing face and told me and Redge that it's better than having it at home.  Of course it's better as once in a while we love eating in buffet or eat-all-you can restaurant because you can have more dishes and desserts in a not-so expensive price.

Btw that's in Tramway Buffet Plaza in Shaw Blvd. where you can eat all you can for the price of P288/head.  We're able to avail the discounted price of P238 at that time. This is too long I'll share the dishes on my other blog.

Relaxing Swimming Resort

It’s always raining these days but still we’re planning a celebration for our dear Pastor’s birthday in spite of the stormy weather. We want to celebrate it with full festive activities but the weather will not permit it unlike last year when we celebrated it at one of the beautiful resorts in Calamba, Laguna. The place is so huge that aside from the four swimming pools they already have in the resort I saw two mini pools for kids still on the finishing and designing stage. It’s just perfect for a nice getaway.

One good thing that I observed in the place is how they keep its cleanliness. The place is free from any litter and the water in the pool doesn’t have any leaves floating. They keep the place in perfect clean and tidy condition. I wonder if they have hayward tigershark pool cleaner that helps them cleans and maintains the place. It’s not that easy to maintain and keep swimming resort especially if there are many people renting the place. People have different attitude and ways that sometimes others can’t abide by the rules so it’s up to the staff to monitor people who shows a not-so obedient attitude. I really appreciate clean and orderly places when we want to relax, swim and bond together because it adds comfort and convenience to vacationing people.

Gen Turned Teen!

This is a late post of my daughter Gen's 13th birthday. I had mixed emotions when my youngest daughter turned 13 which also means that she's entering the teenage years and adolescence period. I'm happy that she's turning into a nice young lady but a little sad that I'm letting go of the baby in her. Realizing that your daughter is not a baby anymore is like accepting that soon she'll be having other world aside from her family and in the future she'll meet someone special. Well maybe I'm just being sentimental over this thing but I'm just used to having two little girls and now both of them are teens. Anyway I still my little boy and really thankful that God has blessed us with another kid besides my two girls.

Back on Gen's birthday we celebrated it at Sta. Lucia where we had fun at the arcade (as always)before we dine at their fave food resto at KFC. We bought the cake before we dine and started eating it there as my kids can't resist the yummy taste of Gen's choice of Black Forest Cake. We're the last to go out the mall, really maximized our time there :)

My Special Day

For my birthday last Dec. 21 I had two celebration.  First was in my bes' JennyL's house with my family, her family and our high school friends.  We had it on the 17th, 4 days before my real birth date.  We had fun reminiscing our high school days and the happenings after that.  It was full of chikas, updates and we felt like we're the same high school girls that we were several years back.  We had our silver HS alumni last Dec 18,2009 and after that we kept on seeing each other on occasions especially at holiday season.

On my real birthday we went to the mall as per request of the kids, dined at their fave resto and played at the arcade.  We all played and it was so fun celebrating my bday like a kid. Kids were so happy competing with the scores and  we went home when we got tired.  They chose the cake and continued the celebration at the house.

Gen Turned 12!

My youngest girl turned 12 today and I was still excited from her two celebrations, one with her classmates and our family in the house and the other was in our church.  We hosted the midweek bible study in time for our daughter's birthday and if we had pasta, chicken and cakes in our house we prepared menudo for our church mates.  I cooked for 50 pax and I'm glad we've finished all of Gen's celebration before midnight.  It's ok if I got so tired because Gen told me that she had the happiest birthday ever.

Missing Iya's Celebration

We’re sad to miss the birthday of one of our favorite baby. She celebrated her first birthday today though her real birthday is on Monday. She lives in a different town that’s why we never attempted to travel when we’re finally free from Gen’s school activities. Redge and the kids were all ready and they’ve waited for us for almost 3 hours before we finally decided we will never make it because the rains are also heavy since early afternoon.

Gen was thinking of Iya while she’s waiting for the competition to finish but we really can’t do something about the situation so I told her to just concentrate on her contest. I know they will understand us because my niece Heidi who is Iya’s Mom is also a primary school teacher and she knows the rules. I saw how sad Josh was when we arrived past 5 in the afternoon and he was informed that we can’t make it. I was happy that although he’s very young he can understand situations like this one like an older kid.

Dear Cousins

Gifts for the little boy are still coming daily especially those who are in the neighbourhood because they were not able to attend his birthday which was celebrated near our church venue. Just today his cousin Ate Heidi and Kuya Lister gave him a wolverine shirt which is one of his fave. He’s happy to receive it from his two close relatives. He loves being with them always when they were living inside the compound. Now they were staying in the next uptown and visit us once a week only. Btw the couple love him and they used to say that Josh is their eldest son. They have a beautiful baby girl named Iya who is turning one this October. I’m also very fond of Iya.

Little Josh' 7th Birthday!

It’s my little boy’s 7th birthday and he was so excited ever since he woke up and heard our greetings to him while playing birthday song. As soon as our service ended we arranged the rented venue beside our church. It’s wide enough to arrange few tables and chairs and a spacious area for playing games. The kids’ excitement was infectious and later the Mommies joined their kids and assisted them. The youth helped in arranging and cleaning because we wanted it to be spotless clean so the kids can do everything they want on the floor.

The games was great and when all the prizes are all in the hands of the children we started the greetings and the birthday song. Pastor prayed for Josh’ birthday and we made him blow his candle with a wish. Then we started eating together. I was happy that I chose the bigger cake because there’s cake for all of us. The kids happily ate together and talked about their winnings and waited in line for their loot bags.

Birthday Preparations

We’ve been busy the whole day preparing things for our little boy’s birthday party. We decided to ask his uncle to cook some of the foods as it may spoil if I cook it at dawn. We’re having his birthday at a rented venue just beside our church. We’re going to decorate it and have some games playing for the kids. We gave them invitations to the kids last Wednesday so they can surely come on Sunday. They were all excited from the looks in their eyes so we made it a point to buy nice prizes, candies, chocolates, lollipops and many other kiddie foods. We’re now packing and arranging the little boy’s giveaways or what we call loot bags. Balloons would have to be on the house only as we’re kinda hesitant to bring it on the venue. As we were packing the goods for tomorrow’s party the little boy is busy eating some of the candies in the table.

Little Creativity on Banner

I’m glad that there are shops that cater to birthday and party needs because when I step into the store I got all I need. I was only looking for loot bags and party hats when I found some more items that I’m planning to buy elsewhere like the banner which costs me less than a hundred bucks compared to personalized tarpaulin which costs around 10 times more.

These days you really have to be practical with things you buy. I bought the banner and have it personalized by my nephew who is into art sign business. He designed the letters in coordination with the robotic theme and came up with a nice set of name letters in the banner. We put some pics of Josh to make it more personalized and voila we have a nice birthday banner without spending too much. A little creativity pays off!

Excited Little Boy

Everybody in the compound cheers the little boy about his birthday and he’s all smiles and counting the hours before the date will turn into 5. He’s always like that on his birthdays ever since he is 2 years old. He sees birthday as a day full of excitement and promises of fun just like last year when we go to his Dad’s office store in SM north after celebrating his birthday on the house. Instead of waiting for his Dad to come home early for his birthday we went there and made him ask permission to leave earlier lol!

When DH manager saw the kids they insisted on DH to leave his post to them and enjoy the day with his kids. The kids were as happy as the sky dome was new then and DH toured us around the newly renovated mall. It was super fun for the girls and the little boy so Josh is now looking forward to celebrating his birthday tomorrow with his church friends.

DS Invitations

Josh gave out his birthday invitations today. He asked us if he could come with us on our bible study. We let him come with us though the rain has started falling. I haven’t had the time to do personalized invitations for him because all my invitation drafts for my kids are all on my desktop hard drive which is down this time and need some repairs. Well I found some cute little invitation cards in the bookstore at 50% discount and Josh was happy to give them out himself. The kids got excited over the invitations and told me that they would never miss their friend’s 7th birthday. I smiled at their simple happiness.

Planning for Josh' 7th Birthday

End of the month again and was hopeful that a big client will going to pay us now. It’s almost two months now and I’m really expecting payments from that company. Anyway we’re happy that we finally decided that we’re going to celebrate little boy’s birthday on Sunday near the church. We’re asking to be permitted to rent a room in the same building where we’re renting our church fellowship venue. I hope that the owner will let us use the 35 sq.m vacant room as it’s perfect for my little boy’s birthday party. Redge and I will design it as nice as any 7th birthday party venue. We’re going to make Josh 7th birthday memorable for him.

Sis Bday!

Last Thursday was my only sister's birthday and she celebrated it in the church bible study together with DD Ruth. It was fun even if we extended our midweek service time. They always celebrate their birthdays together because they were born one day apart only. I remembered my sister telling me when I was pregnant with my eldest that she wants me to deliver my baby on her exact birthday. Well I was a few hours earlier, 6 hours to be exact before the 19th day of August which is her birth date. In the house we feasted for two days, the 18th with a cake from RR and on the 19th with our favorite ice cream of course both with spaghetti because we're a pasta family lol!

They had a separate date on the weekend after that where little sister accompanied Ruth and Gen on the arcade and had some shopping spree for their personal things. Kids were happy, always when they're with their Tita Mama. Still pondering on my gift for her.

Lake Villa Resort Bday Celebration

This is a late post of my Mom's birthday celebration in Lake Villa Resort last May 29 , a day before her real birthday where we spent the whole day of her 78th birthday swimming, eating and relaxing. It was a nice bonding moment for all of us there. We traveled in convoy arriving in 2 vehicles and another 2 cars at lunch time. It was attended by our family in Cainta, hubby's family and our close relatives in our Laguna hometown.
Mom's a happy celebrant with her eyes smiling the whole day through. Our birthday wish? Of course peace, health, love and happiness for our dearest Mom. God has already gave His best gift last year when He has sent one of the most wonderful miracles in Mom's life and that's the gift of seeing again after being blind for 2 weeks. We're not wishing for material blessings as we've received the most important gift of all - God's wonderful love for our family.

Sharing here some pics of our happy outing:
