His First Regular Flag Ceremony

He likes being photographed here :-) Funny kid!

It's kinda late but I just want to share Josh excitement over his first flag ceremony on the second day of his schooling. He had flag ceremonies when he was in preparatory school but on programs and occasions only. Prep students don't have daily flag ceremony and they study only for 2-3 hours a day so this new activity for Josh every morning gave him additional exciting things to do. Lately he told me that he got tired after the little exercises in their flag ceremony but he smiled when he demonstrated their exercises. Really this little kid is so funny and I noticed that he's gaining lots of friends already.

I was lucky to get a small nook behind one steel post because I got shy doing the snapshots, glad they didn't noticed my cam :-) camera flash was off!

Osang's Birthday

Another birthday luncheon again and this time it's Osang. Actually her birthday was really last September 11 but she was in Cebu then attending the ACC conference for telcos. She requested Art to cook pork liempo for her yesterday and brought her turbo. She cooked spaghetti, chicken lollipop and lumpiang shanghai to go with pork liempo. Cakes flooded the table as we have chocolate and ube cake from Red Ribbon and mercedes de brazo.

As we're only around 15 in the office wuthout the technical staff who were assigned in some place the food was more than enough for us. Again it's a yummy lunch for all of us. Happy birthday Osang!

Josh Is Kinder Now!

Josh was so excited that even if his schedule is on the afternoon he asked me to prepare his things earlier and even requested me to take him to school before lunchtime, really missing his schooling or maybe his school friends. It took me a long time to get ready because I’ve dressed his wound in the forehead. It’s just a small skin infection but I’ve covered it just to be sure that his wound wouldn’t be infected with dirt.

He has a new teacher now but he’s on the same room as when he’s on nursery. He’s very happy to see some of his buddies like Yvan, Rafael, Marc Axl and Louis Andre. Lucky they have each other again for friends. He’s different now unlike last year when he wanted me by his side. He even told me after class that their teacher told them not to bring their moms on the second day lol! That really got me laughing!

I waited for him as I’ve done with all of my kids on their first day and I’m not alone on this as almost every kid has a mommy, granny or nanny waiting for them. After they went out of the room he pleaded to play first in the slide before going home as many kinder students were already on different playthings there, some on the playhouse, others on the seesaw, I also saw one kid on the bike and a lot of them on the slide, the favorite one. Funny thing is the announcement on the wall ‘No Classes Tomorrow’. That announcement on the first day? Yap! Because tomorrow is Provincial Day of Rizal, our province.

First Day Fellowship

We arrived at the site 6am in the morning with 3 groups of our brethren already there, one group hasn't arrived yet and I learned that they had trouble with their brakes. We arranged all of our things in the room and had our breakfast immediately to prepare ourselves for the first day of our fellowship. I was assigned as the first teacher of the day so I studied my lessons and activities for the children. The kids and I were having an interaction with one of my biblical story when the last group arrived, tiredness was well written on their faces. After an hour or two I closed my lessons and catched up the fellowship in the upper room where we held our service.

I was lucky to catch Pastor's preaching but we're not complete yet so the air just breezed through us freely breathing through our ears. It was always good hearing deep inspirational messages from our dear Pastor but the preaching was almost at the end. We planned a different set of menu this time avoiding meaty recipes because cooking meat took up plenty of time just to get it tender. This time we planned spaghetti for breakfast, monggo and fish for lunch and chopsuey for dinner, for our last afternoon before we go home we will just have lomi for late afternoon snack which can be good enough also for a light dinner before travelling. For the children we have jumbo hotdogs in each meal. Rice was served all throughout the day, we've prepared one sack for us all.

Afternoon service was fully packed as all brethren were there already. I had the time to listen to all exhorters and preachers because I've already finished my camp school teaching, will miss the kids though. I always liked to be scheduled first makes me feel better if I finished first. The master of ceremony carefully planned the time slot for ministers because we'll have to start our service for communion and feetwashing right after the speaker.
