What Should You Do When Your BMW Breaks Down?

It is unfortunate, but vehicles don't last forever. Even the most expensive cars like Mercedes, BMW and Porsche break down. Having your car breakdown is never a really fun experience. You never really realize just how much you depend on your car until it breaks. If you only have one vehicle, then you will quickly notice that life without your trusty car will become really difficult, really fast. Not only is dealing with a car breakdown a huge inconvenience, but now you are faced with the challenge of finding an auto mechanic that can get your car back on the road again. This is a lot more difficult than it sounds, especially if you have an expensive vehicle like a BMW.

Finding a Good Mechanic

Most people already have a good mechanic that they know and trust. If you are looking for a good mechanic in DC, the best way to find one is to start by asking friends and family who they recommend. Getting a good personal reference will really make it much easier to locate a good quality mechanic.

If you prefer not to bother your friends and family, then you can start searching online for a good quality mechanic. You will want to keep your search local. It would not make any sense to locate a mechanic that was miles away. Keeping your search results local is pretty simple. Here is an excellent example.

If you live in Washington DC, then simply search for "Find BMW repair in Washington.” This should bring you back plenty of results. You may even be able to schedule a repair online. Most mechanics will allow you this convenience.

If you don't want to search for a mechanic, then you can always take your vehicle to the car dealership where you purchased it. In many cases, this will be the best place to get the best repairs.

DIY Repair

DH worked on our car this morning and since he’s not familiar with repairing car horns he sought the help of DIY tutorial online. After some moments in learning how to do it he followed instructions and successfully revived the sounds of the horn. We always check whatever needs to be done on car because we use it every Sunday when we go to church and we don’t want to be late when something goes wrong.

We’re glad that our car is not of the latest model because repair of such kinds would bring us large amount of financial expenses. I came to a thought of having my dream car RV which needs rv repair when something goes wrong. Well as RV has a lot of components and usage it needs more detailed checkup and repair. It should be repaired just like it’s new again.

Expected Expenses for the Car Repair

I’m making some list here of our expected expenses for the car because our mechanic will have his general check-up tomorrow. I’ve listed battery, reserved tires, wiper motor and many others. I’m thinking if we’re going to buy a new car audio since the existing one is good enough for us. Hope the mechanic would see lesser trouble because repair expenses will definitely affect our budget for the holidays. Anyway we listed the car now as one of our priorities because we’re going to use it for our camp meeting and before the actual camp when we’ll be bringing the instruments to the site. I have plenty of things to list but I just prioritized the major ones because the minor accessories can be bought at a later date.

Should be in Good Running Condition

My brother lends us his other car for our service car in going to church, malls, out of town and to some other places. Currently they’re too busy with their construction business and the pickup is starting to show a defect in battery thus starting up is so hard. DH fixed the car last weekend and we were able to use it again in going to church. In the past few weeks we’re finding it hard to get a cab when going home especially when it’s raining. Taxi drivers tend to ask additional amount aside from the meter reading even if it’s illegal to do it. We’re happy now that we don’t have to wait that long for a decent taxi driver who wouldn’t think of having contract price instead of meter reading.

We just have to make some more fixes, tune up and change oil by the end of this month to regain the car’s good performance. Anyway it’s still cheaper than having a motorhome repairs because our car can be fixed on ordinary shops wherein vehicles as expensive as motor homes deserved a trusted repair shop. Now I’m saving some funds for the car’s general check up at the end of his month. We’re slowly readying it for our December camp meeting fellowship because that will be a long drive and vehicles should be in good running condition.

Cooling Down

It’s just another happy Sunday spent in our church. Early morning brought us great heat and we have to stop by the river banks to cool down the car. We traveled earlier so we can have a much colder temperature but the heat really rose up to the extent that it affected the car also.

As we rested for awhile I’ve seen some cars stopping by to check on their cars also. Some have a need for hydraulic floor jack because their tires gave up but others just want to cool down only just like us. After just a few more minutes we returned to our car and headed to our home church. On our way back to home the rain poured endlessly and we had a very nice cool travel.

Car is Ok Now!

I had to take a halfday leave today as I'm arranging the schedule of workers who will do another septic tank for us. Two brothers in our church were here early morning and together with hubby they repaired the gear box problem. Bro. Alex and Bro. Gideon were on a coding vacation from work every Monday so it's really the best time to work the steering problem of the car.

Have postponed construction in our backyard as there's no way the delivery truck can pass through our driveway. I just assured Mom that everything will be alright tomorrow even if I won't be there. This week is the busiest time in billing.

We were so happy that finally our car is ok now!

Car Trouble

Early in the morning my hubby checked the car to see if the only trouble is in the gear box. Bro. Alex has scheduled his time early morning today to checkup on the car but was cancelled because hubby can’t take a leave off his work today. This brother that I mentioned always helps us every time the car shows some trouble, he’s a driver/mechanic for some years now and he knows a lot about his field.

After thorough checking hubby confirmed that the only trouble is in the gear box. I’m glad because that would mean extra expenses on us like when our car aircon failed to give out cool air we spent sizeable amount on our ac compressor. It’s good that way back then we found a good and reliable shop that gave us a very nice price quotation.
