Showing Up in Style on Your Prom

There are a few moments that come only once or twice in a lifetime, and your prom is one of them. You are already spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on your outfit and hairstyle, so why not spend just a little bit more and make sure you show up in style. After all, what's the point of looking like a million bucks if you show up in a 92 Saturn?

Keep in mind, however, that many other people will have the same idea. If you want to book a limo for your prom, you need to do it ahead of time. While you are doing this, think about the statement you want to make.

If you want your prom to be a more intimate affair between you and your date, you can rent a town car limo for just the two of you. On the other hand, if you want your prom to be a big party, you can rent a limo for you and your friends. This latter option is usually the more cost-effective since you can split the cost of the limo between everyone.

Make sure to find out the exact number of people the limo can carry at one time. You should also make sure the limo itself is fully insured. You do not want to be liable for any damages that occur to the limo. However, if any of the passengers in the limo caused damage to the interior, you will be liable for that. It is important to make sure that all your friends control themselves while inside the vehicle, no matter how excited they may become.

There are many companies that provide prom limo rental Virginia. Take the time to look at options near you and find one that strikes the perfect balance between stylish and affordable.

My Party Hat

Last month we had our costume party for our company Christmas celebration and I’ve chosen a cowgirl costume for myself as I didn’t have time to ask my friend to sew me a Red Riding Hood costume. I know that making that costume would cost too much time and money so I turned on the other costume. It was rather easy for me to get and prepare the costume because my sister had it already on their last year’s party.

The costume clothes were ready before the needed accessories so I just bought a nice leather brown sandals and search for a cowgirl hat that would make me look like one. When I went to the nearest mall to our house I immediately found a nice hat which looks like Western Hats to me but I bought just the same. When my daughter saw what I bought she immediately love the hat and whispered that after the costume party she’ll take the hat. Actually before the party ends it’s her who is wearing the cowgirl hat because she likes it.

:Photohunt 172 : Entertainment (Mascot)

Here in the Philippines if you want kids to enjoy birthday parties just celebrate it in Jollibee and you'll surely make them happy. Here's a shot from my niece' 7th birthday which my brother hosted it at Jollibee in Ever branch. Josh was only 3 years old then and he's not so keen on getting close to Jollibee mascot that's why he's not included here, it's just Mitch, the birthday celebrant and Ruth.

Got another entry in my other blog Beyond Horizons:

My Mom In-Law’s Birthday

It’s my Mom In-law’s birthday yesterday and she helped us host the bible study yesterday. She brought 7 whole chicken lechon, 5 dozens of steamed puto and 4 kilos spaghetti. I cooked more than a dozen of gelatin stuffed with pineapple and raisins. It was a kind of thanksgiving for all the blessings that came her way and especially for another year of happy and healthy life.

Since I went home from office to get the desserts from our house I almost ran out of time getting to the church. I was so busy with lots of activities that I forgot my digicam so I just used my mobile phone camera for some shots of her birthday. I’m glad that I didn’t forget our Pastor’s auto insurance that my sis Redge reminded me early morning yesterday. It’s very important and Pastor needs it immediately.

Osang's Birthday

Another birthday luncheon again and this time it's Osang. Actually her birthday was really last September 11 but she was in Cebu then attending the ACC conference for telcos. She requested Art to cook pork liempo for her yesterday and brought her turbo. She cooked spaghetti, chicken lollipop and lumpiang shanghai to go with pork liempo. Cakes flooded the table as we have chocolate and ube cake from Red Ribbon and mercedes de brazo.

As we're only around 15 in the office wuthout the technical staff who were assigned in some place the food was more than enough for us. Again it's a yummy lunch for all of us. Happy birthday Osang!

Father's Day

Spent the whole day at the church and we've planned to have snack or dinner somewhere in Tiendesitas as they're open until after 9pm. We've rounded the place but after all the food stores and restaurants we've ended up to the kids' favorite Jollibbee lol! My three kids doesn't want to eat those food in SM hypermart catering to different kinds of food, they just want to eat french fries, chicken burgers, spaghetti and chicken so to make the choices simple we just dined in the branch near SM.

We're not really that serious celebrating Father's Day as having a formal dinner or what; just a simple eat-together kind is enough just as long as the whole family is happy. We brought our prayers to God to keep Ed healthy and forever caring. Together with my kids we thanked God that He gave us a father and husband that so loves, understanding and doing his best to keep our family in the bosom of God's love and care. He is not just a good father but also a good minister of God.

Memories of Fiesta

It’s barrio fiesta here in our barangay and I remember many special moments with my high school friends during fiestas. Of course Bes JennyL would always be there in our house during those occasions. During those days I’ve always looked forward to fiestas because it’s nice to watch amateur, parade and of course the food! My mom is a great cook and she always took time to cook the special and time-consuming menu like hamonado and lumpia which took a lot of preparation to do unlike the usual other menus of my mom like menudo, kaldereta, mechado. Barrio fiesta is only celebrated by the so-called ‘taga-barrio’ which is dominantly populated by the Bombay-looking people in Cainta including my ancestors – the one that they called sepoys or Indian soldiers.

Because it’s a barrio fiesta the common visitors are also from the same or nearby town unlike town fiesta which usually invites people from faraway places. Actually me and my friends sometimes hopped in each other houses just to taste desserts like if our house have fruit salad we will eat some other kind of dessert on our other friend’s house, just for fun really! Anyway we were very young then and occasions make us happy.

Now I’ve grown up and became a born-again Christian we never celebrate and attend fiesta anymore. Beliefs and traditions change as you grow older and mature in the spiritual side of life. Those fun memories are part of my happy teenage years and will always be special.
