Three Habits of Healthy Marriages

While no couple gets married imagining the troubles or conflict that will arise between them, the reality is any couple will have difficulties at some point and proactively implementing habits to help connect and work through the difficult times is critical to forming a lasting marriage. Here are three habits to start now.

Date Your Spouse

While dates and dating are frequent in the days and weeks prior to marriage, it can be easy to let them start falling away with time and the busy-ness of life and children and career obligations. Find a way to commit to a regular date night weekly or bi-weekly and be flexible with how those look in different stages of life. Spending time creating a date night or date day bucket list and taking turns planning the dates is a fun and easy to keep your connection alive.

Ask for Help

Whether you have conflict causing issues or not, it is never a bad time to start couples counseling Woodcliff Lake NJ. Finding a quality couples counselor will give both of you the time and space with a neutral third party to help you develop healthy communication patterns and give you ideas on how to work through conflict. Just like most people regularly go to their doctor for preventive checks, a skilled couples counselor can help you build and maintain your marriage while also providing help when there are challenges.

Expectations

Typically, expectations are where we most struggle in relationships. Whether there are unstated expectations, unmet expectations or unrealized expectations, expectations hold a lot of power in relationships. Once recognized, communicated and discussed many times the difficulties or conflicts that start from expectations can be understood and healed. Finding a rhythm of regularly checking in on expectations and feelings will help strengthen your marriage.

There is never a wrong time to implement or plan healthy habits for your marriage. By dating each other, asking for help and discussing expectations you can develop healthy habits to keep your marriage alive and well for a lifetime.

Married Life

Marriage is a sacred thing and it should be consumed not only with love but respect and trust as well. This is the reason why couples are needed to undergo pre-wedding seminar before they commit themselves fully to marriage life. They also need to consult with elders and ask for tips and advices so they will have ideas what they’re entering at. Married life has its happy and sad moments. When we got married 16 years ago I remember the wedding bow that says ‘For rich and for poor, in sick and in health which delivers a message that love is not a bed of roses and that sometimes we encountered difficulties as we go through the journey of life.

Couple must be matured enough to face life’s challenges because married life is not only about being in love but spending your whole life understanding your spouse little imperfections. When you come to terms with his good or bad habits and attitudes that’s the only time that you can honestly say you love your spouse. Well not everyone can stand the journey and struggles of being married so after several years of marriage they didn’t want to stay together.

It’s sad news to me when I heard unsuccessful marriages but people have different views and I cannot dictate anyone on how to run their relationship. To my close friends I always give advices on keeping relationship strong and tell them to always make an extra effort to show your love for your spouse. Anyway on those separated by various reasons and wanted a legal advice they can always search www.EphraimLaw.com which would be able to help you with anything about uncontested divorce case. Engagement Rings

When two people fall in love they want to be together always and time stops when they’re in the company of each other. In the first months and years of relationship they come to know each other’s attitude, traits, strength, fears and little things that define their characteristics. It is when couple realize how much they love their partner or on different circumstances they will know that they’re not compatible. They say that long engagement is not advisable because prolonged years expose them to temptations and sometimes boredom. It is most old folks’ idea of having a long courtship and short engagement before marriage rather than short courtship with long engagement.

Anyway age is also a factor because when you fall in love early in life you just can’t marry the moment you know you’re in love. With all these things in my mind I try to associate our own experience with courtship, falling in love, being engaged and finally getting married to the person you want to live with the rest of your life. It seems so magical to write things this way but it’s true falling in love is magical as you’ll never when it will hit you.

The moment that I met my husband I felt a different spark within me which I just ignored at first. Through years of friendship and being together in our church we came to know each other and got closer. Little we know that we’re falling for each other. He felt it first and I realized later that the first spark is the first foundation of love in my heart. Our friendship developed into love and upon realizing we’re more than friends we committed ourselves in a promise to marry someday. After two years we were engaged and got married.

During those days engagement are simple unlike these days when men would go to a certain act or to some planned drama to profess love and ask the girl to marry him. It is then that the man would give an engagement ring to his special love and wait for the yes answer. Kinda romantic? Of course love is magic and romantic. Well when it comes to selecting the perfect engagement ring for that special one you can click here and choose the one that will fit your dream diamond engagement ring.

But you also need to learn from the expert or read reviews on how to choose the perfect ring. We all know that diamond is very expensive and we should know the right place to buy it like Whiteflash who offers Hearts & Arrow diamond, original handcrafted platinum and gold setting, diamond engagement rings and wedding bands and specialty jewelry. Diamond is forever and the perfect symbol of love and devotion.

Cousin's Wedding Preparations

My cousin in the province is getting married and his elder sister visited us to tell the good news of his youngest sibling getting married at last. We talked about how easy it is now to buy the ready-made wedding gowns, groom’s outfit, bridesmaid dresses and all things needed for the whole entourage. The couple originally wanted custom-made gowns to be fit and tailored in the town miles away from them. The elder sister suggested that they can choose among wide variety of wedding gown style and finishes in Manila the same day.

Not so far from the place they could also round up Ongpin, a well-known place for all kinds  of  jewelry especially wedding rings. I remember getting our wedding rings in the same place and it’s a very nice place for me as you can get them at the wholesale price compared when you buy them on other shops. We were accompanied by my Auntie who was a certified jewelry lady several years back. I suggested some shops there where you could also have your names engraved. My cousin want his brother and soon to be sister-in-law not to be too tired with gowns and rings because there are many choices now compared in the early times when gowns should be custom fitted and everything in slow preparation. We’re now in the modern times and we should take advantage of the good advantages of making your wedding less stressful.

Wedding Flowers

Getting married is not a joke. It’s a serious thing and very important especially for the two people who chose to live each day of their lives together. As they say for rich or for poor, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health and everything that will happen in the course of their lives.

Preparing for marriage is not as easy also as it takes a lot of time, effort, planning and money. It also entails the help of family, friends and relatives to prepare important things needed in the ceremony and reception. You’ll have to plan everything from gowns, wedding invitations, entourage, sponsors, reception, food, cheap bridal flowers and many other things. Actually if you really think about this you’ll need a much longer period to ensure readiness in all aspects. I’ve been through it all and I’m lucky that I got help of my family, relatives, church mates and friends. They helped us through almost all aspects of preparations and we happily got through the celebration with ease because of them.

Well for those who are also planning to get married make sure that you have all the resources not only the money but of the people who will help you along the way. Make sure that you’ll be able to get some good deals in your gowns, menu and flowers. Now it’s easier with ordering some of these online like the flowers from Russ Wholesale Flowers which offers a wide variety of flowers for your wedding and some occasion at a very affordable price. Your flowers will arrive fresh from the fields where they’re grown. Always remember that getting beautiful and elegant flowers can be inexpensive also.

Relaxing Vacation Thoughts

When I see couples who are planning and saving money for their marriage I remember the times that hubby and I were equally busy with wedding preparations. We were so in love that all seems exciting and we never felt the hardships and pressures of wedding. When I looked back at the occasion I think our friends and relatives were more stressed and nervous than we were at that time. We were so thankful that they helped us with every single detail in invitation, giveaways, flower arrangement, gowns, menu and reception. I was so happy that day not only with getting married with the man I love most but with the thought that many people love us to care so much how our wedding will turn out.

Now that we’re married for thirteen years we’re still the same person who is in love with each other, more matured and responsible. Sometimes we find it hard to relax and spend the day with just the two of us because of work pressures, household activities and children’s demand on us. On more relaxing days we’re planning to have a vacation that will free us from everyday hustle and bustle. We would love to spend few days away from work and home just like a romantic vacation riviera maya which offers best accommodation packages with good services not just for the hotel you’ll be staying but also with gourmet foods you’ll surely love. It’s always peaceful to spend a lazy afternoon sitting on white-sand beaches with scenic views ahead. I know I would be feeling relaxed, stress-free and romantic with my hubby beside me.

13 Years of Being Married!

Another year has passed and we’ve come a long way from where we first began. We’ve shared many things along the way not only happiness but also sadness, not only success but failures, not only courage but fear and through all the challenges in life we also shared our faith in Jesus. We made it the center of our relationship and every time we felt like giving up it’s the hand of God who always brings us up. How wonderful God’s love is!

Through all the 13 years of having lived as husband and wife I came to know the person that I love dearly. His love holds us together despite many odds and circumstances. Everyday I thanked God that He has given me Ed for my partner in life, not only as husband and father to our kids but also a friend as well. He may not always hear it from me but I love him so much.

Remembering our story and good times together first as friends until we finally took our vows always gives me a smile on my heart and I’ll never be tired of sharing it.

Our 12th Wedding Anniversary

Another year again! This time it's our 12th and it seems like we've only married for some years, really time goes by so fast, before you knew it has passed you by quickly. Nothing's changed, we're still the same-bestfriends turned sweethearts- and I'm just so glad that we reached this 12th year of our married life with the same intense feeling that we have for each other when we were younger. My hubby is still the same understanding and loving Ed that I've known for years, actually sweeter and more romantic as he grows older (even if I'm 25 pounds heavier lol).

Some says that as the years of marriage increases the thoughtfulness and romance decreases, a male friend of mine once told me that after few years of marriage he always forgot to give flowers to his wife. He felt guilty when he learned that Ed never fails to give me white roses on birthdays and anniversaries (engagement and wedding). Why white roses? Because that's the sign that I asked God to give me when I wanted to know if Ed was the one God meant for me. From that day that he gave me a white rose I knew that he's the one that God gave me to be my partner in life.
