She’s 14 Now!

Last Saturday was Rachel May’s birthday, my niece and my brother’s daughter but she celebrated it on the day before it because she invited her classmates. Having guests is rather tiring sometimes and big brother told me that they will just cook because it’s the dearest request of Rachel. She wants to celebrate her birthday with her high school friends and didn’t want to go out somewhere so she thought of having it in their house.

Time flies so fast and Rachel who I used to call as my little Chinese doll baby is now 14 years old and she’s becoming so pretty lately and oh so tall just like her Mom. I’m still thinking of gifts for her birthday because her preference for things differ now than when she’s younger. I’ll consult Ruth because she’s only a year younger than her cousin.

:PH#197 : Balanced with Seesaw

Click images for a larger view

Josh is trying to balance with his sister Gen in this SEESAW (also known as a teeter-totter or teeter board) but because they're not the same weight Josh was suspended on top most of the times. Gen just can't hold her laughs on this as she almost slumps when Josh is on the top. This seesaw is a complete fun ride for my siblings during our lunch break from fellowship on the villa.

Getting the Best Quotes

My schoolmate works for an insurance company and she told me that it’s not that easy to sell life insurance these days. I think that one of the reasons is because of our current financial and economic crisis. People are saving up their money on basic necessities and essentials; they just don’t want to spend more. Well some of the reasons most of the time is the high cost that you have to pay quarterly or yearly which is affecting finances most of the times. For those with extra income and big salaries it’s not a problem but most of them really look for term life insurance quotes online before they get their insurance. It's better that way.

Quality Time with Our Family

We’re having some physical sickness these past few days and DH visited their company’s doctor for some checkup and Xray. He was feeling really bad then with his cough and some chest pain. We’ve prayed him over at the church for the Xray and physical examination results and we were so happy that everything is clear and fine with his body. In thanksgiving we decided to give ourselves a one-day rest and relaxation day at Tagaytay City but it didn’t pursue as our companions are not available this day. The previous plan was for Friday so they really didn’t have ideas that it would be earlier.

Anyway even if the original plan of a family vacation in Picnic Grove didn’t pushed true we spent the day happily bonded together. It’s important for the whole family to have some relaxing moments sometimes to have more quality time together. Actually if you have the money and time to spare it’s best to have your vacation in beautiful places near the beach like Karisma Resorts and enjoy a beach vacation with fine dining, luxurious accommodation and some water sports. I’m sure the kids will love it also.

Hubby's Birthday!

It's Ed's birthday tomorrow and since he filed a leave of absence today we celebrated his birthday in advance to take advantage of his presence today. We planned to go to Tagaytay City to relax and have some picnic in Picnic Grove but something came up that the plan was shelved. Since DH is with us today and will be working on his birthday tomorrow it's just perfect to cook and have some bonding today. The kids were happy to see me cooking their favorites when they came home from school. As always we have pasta, cake, chicken and dessert just enough for us and our relatives within our compound. My wish for him is physical and spiritual health. I always thank God for giving him to me - a loving and caring husband. It's his 15th birthday since we're together. I still remember the first birthday he had when we're just over a month as bf and gf.

Early Preparations

I’m busy preparing foods for DH’s birthday though he told me not to cook anymore as we have enough food to eat. I’ve cooked one of his favorite viand early in the morning so when we returned from buying electrical items for Ruth’s project our food is ready and still hot. We went to Robinsons and tried to find the liquid wire that DH is searching for on any DIY shop or electrical shops. The project is due today and DH will bring the materials to Ruth. It’s good that DH is here and I was able to cook pasta and chicken (my kids’ favorite) and made some fruit salad. We’ll celebrate DH’s birthday today to use his leave of absence. Tomorrow I’ll see if I can drop by his place of work so we can have dinner.

The Sporty and Sleek Acura

I like surfing up those sites where I can see beautiful cars at its best. Well who doesn’t love cars? It’s not only men who love cars, in fact you’ll see many women now driving latest model cars. I missed our car even if it’s not the top of the line kind because it’s nice to go over some nice places when you have your own car and not just hiring some cabs. I’m just happy that we’re able to borrow my brother’s car whenever we need it. Just like now that we’re heading for Tagaytay City tomorrow to relax, rest and have some bonding family moments. It’s actually my husband’s birthday on Friday and we’re just celebrating it in advance.

Owning a car these days is pretty expensive with high prices of beautiful cars and maintenance but with the latest models and car capabilities it’s very tempting to buy new vehicles. Well with some of those who really can afford to have the top of the line brands who cares about price. With the current economic crisis now it’s amazing how many car companies still make it to sell their hot model cars, maybe you can’t just resist owning them like acura rdx, Honda’s first turbocharged vehicle who can satisfy those who loves the sporty and sleek look.

If you’re the kind who can’t live outside the city this car is for you with its ambient lighting, new climate controls and metallic trim to make a more defined high tech style and great look. For the compact luxury crossover vehicle you can rely that it’s the least-expensive among its kind. With Honda’s good reputation of manufacturing quality cars you’re assured of a beautiful, quality and high performance car to drive in the city.

God's Assurance and Protection

I didn’t posted here the fire that happened in our area last week the 13th of this month which razed around 3 compounds destroying more or less 20 houses. That fire was very near our house, it’s actually the 5th house from ours and if you’re in the vicinity of the fire you’ll think that the fire is already beside your house as the black smoke engulfs the surrounding area. It was a nerve-shattering moment and all I did was to kneel and pray hard to God to let the disaster passed without harming us. As I prayed I felt God’s assurance that He’ll protect us from the fire. God is good all the time, He stopped the fire immediately and never let the fire touched the house before us.

After more than an hour of putting off the fire it was declared stable and safe by the firemen who struggled through the inner area of the compound. Some people who live at the back were trapped but found safety in the roof. No casualties were reported either on the residents or in the fire protection group who see to it that they have fire safety products with them before they rescued people and houses. I give all praises and thanks to God.

New Arrangements

The girls are having different schedules on their classes in the afternoon because of extra curricular activities that should be attended after the regular classes not to mention the usual practices, meetings and many others. DH and I talked about this morning what should be the best way we can do to solve the problem of their service in school. We can’t blame the service driver if he can’t be back for Gen at her requested time for the guy has other students waiting for him in their designated time so if Gen will be late for their scheduled time she’ll have to wait for a much later time before he can fetch her up.

It’s a little dangerous for Gen to stay late in the school especially if all her classmates will go home earlier than her so we decided to cut the service and do it ourselves. DH will send them in the morning and I will fetch them in the afternoon and if I can’t make it they can go home on their own. There’s a safe way home which they can walk through two community streets without passing the national road. It’s a short cut from school to our home and it’s a walking route which the kids love to do with their friends who lives near our place. It’s also a practice for Ruth who is graduating this March and will enter secondary school next year. Sometimes children need a little space to learn things up and enjoy their childhood. Anyway I'll try to fetch them everyday.

Regaining My Health

These past few days I feel sudden pain in my chest and I easily get tired when I work. I know from the past that every time I gained so many pounds this pain occurs so I started my healthy diet again. Together with this diet I started some exercises also that are good for the heart and for my stamina. When I go to school to visit my kids I walk either going to or from the school, it somehow brings back the strength of my heart, feet and my body’s resistance. It’s my favorite exercise way back then and when I stopped walking my minimum 3 kilometers a day I felt lazy and weaker.

I should have noted that I can’t go on without my daily exercises and I’m sure that’s the reason why I feel so sick these past few days. Being overweight is another thing as the holidays had doubled up the pounds that I’ve lost before December last year. Well I’m hoping that I can get back to shape and strength with my new health plan. I’m glad that I don’t have to take diet pills like liporexall for now as I’m so determined to lose excess pounds and regained my healthy body. I’m extra careful with what I eat now, actually I’m having fruits and fish this lunch.

:Today's Flowers #75 and MYM#1

Click the images to enlarge

These two shots were taken on different places and with different digicams but I find them both beautiful. The first one with only a single yellow bloom was taken in Villa Dominga Forest Resort in Cavite and the next picture of clusters of the same yellow bloom was just taken near our house on one of our neighbor's small garden. I was just passing by when I noticed the flowers and because I had my cam with me then I had some good pretty shots!

Happy Monday!

Improve Site’s Traffic

I’ve read some good posts from visiting favorite sites and I guess I was really satisfied that I learn lots of things everyday. I’ve been very busy and little sick lately that I wasn’t able to post some inspirational entries for my inspirational blog but promised myself to do so once I feel much better. It’s good to write entries that can give inspirations and spiritual well-being to readers but sometimes I feel sad that some readers preferred some other topics and I got more comments for my not so good posts. Well maybe I didn’t have much visitors or traffic on that blog that’s why I’m thinking of getting some free seo tools to improve traffic on my sites. I’ve been told that it really helps and anyway it’s free so I can try it anytime I want!

You Are a Thinker

You tend to have your feet on the ground. You think about what's actual, and you love facts.

You are a rational person. You like to think through ideas, and you like the thoughts that books spark.

You are a person with a few deep interests. If you're drawn to something, you learn everything about it.

You are a person who values your possessions. You tend to have fewer things but of higher quality.

Back To Healthy Meals

I noticed that when I stopped watching what I eat during meal times I easily gained the pounds that I lost before the holidays. I actually gained some more with plenty of activities last month. I stopped my healthy diet plan to make way for the holiday festivities and anyone reading this should agree that you can’t really go on your diet on holiday seasons. It’s hard to resist dinner invitations with friends, families, former schoolmates and officemates.

Last month was full of festive gatherings and it’s just doesn’t feel right to say no to them so I indulged with full heart. Now I’m back to healthy diet with a heavier body and a good appetite lol! If only my body can adopt the best weight loss pills I’m sure I’m can shed some pounds too. Anyway I can consult my doctor about it. For the meantime I think I’ll go back to a diet of fruits, vegetables and fish to lower cholesterol.

Good Traffic for My Sites

I’m glad that I found some time now again to visit web sites which sometimes I find it so hard to do with the usual weekend household chores and my kids’ demand for attention. I know most mothers like me understand this as Saturdays are the usual time to do it. When I and the kids have some schedule to go to the mall or anywhere we fancy I do my chores on Fridays to make way for weekend bonding. I have the chance to do this kind of scheduling now that I’m working at home. I can do whatever I want anytime because I have no office works.

It really feels so good and right to say those things now after 19 years of office employment. Well now that I have plenty of time to do things online I can also try submitting my sites to free directories so I can get my desired traffic for my sites. I know that this can drive huge traffic and visitors to my sites by some free tools they give for free. I would certainly love that for sure!

Friday Fill-ins #159

1. The lesson I learned yesterday was to take care of your body by giving it healthy foods, enough rest, sleep and exercise.
2. On reunions, anniversaries, wedding and birthdays usually are where friends and family meet.
3. All these years, I've been very dedicated with my work but I haven't save money unlike now that I'm working at home I get to save some.
4. Everyone smiled when I arrived.
5. The truth is our families are the ones who will love us unconditionally.
6. The worried and helpless look of the fire victims is what I remember most from that day when fire happened in our area.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to helping my girls arrange their closets tomorrow my plans include laundry and cooking up some desserts and Sunday, I want to thank God in our fellowship service for His safekeeping on us last Wednesday on the fire that happened.

Growing Up Really Fast

My daughter Ruth is fast growing up and maybe after one or two year’s time she’ll be as tall as me. Next year she’ll be in high school and will start her adolescence period where she’ll experience having pimples, sudden changes in her biological self, maybe have some crushes and enjoy her teenage years. As she’s only 12 now I’ll enjoy her last year of being a girl because I know when she enters high school life would be different for her with her new school, new friends and new environment. The next thing I know she’ll be asking me about acne treatment gel when she experience having acne or ask about taking care of her face and body skin. Too many presumptions on my mind and that’s because I’m her Mommy and whatever stage she’ll be passing through I’ll always be beside her to guide, care and love her.

Promo Items

Holiday seasons are over and still I have some laziness in getting back to work. Although I’m just working at home now I still make my work on schedule just like when I’m going to work to office. I set my imaginary bundy clock to 9am as my official starting time in writing posts and visiting blogs. I also have lunch breaks and snack breaks just like working outside. I feel so lucky with this very flexible work schedule and I get to do offline and online tasks as scheduled.

It’s good to be working in the comfort of your home especially on holidays as I remember on my previous office job that I was involved in thinking what might be our promotional items for our long list of clients. The usual are small pouches, planner, key chains, ball pens, bags and many more. What I love most that I received from our partners is the personalized USB flash drive which I’m using currently.

Now I'm also having this petite red flowers for my ruby tuesday entry. Hope you find it pretty!

Some Foreclosures

I was having my lunch when I was asked by a friend who regularly reads my blogs if I know a place that she can go to for a vacation. Of course I know many because I’ve been writing them here and in my other sites. For my friend I should search for the best and most affordable also as she don’t want to spend a lot of money on this vacation. I was browsing the net when I chanced upon this Outer banks foreclosures which caught my attention for minutes and I read the whole page. Well it’s not that I want to buy any foreclosed property I’m just interested with the news in case one of my investor friends would want to throw some money into it. Just a thought really!

My Friend’s Business Travel and Vacation

I just talked to my former officemates through online messaging and was glad to know that she’s having a good time with her vacation in the land of the Big Apple. She has a sister there and it saves her money because she has a place to stay with. But when she has business meetings on other place she stays in hotels because it would be too far to travel and she wouldn’t want to be late in any of her meeting with foreign business associates.

Lately she stays in one of las vegas hotel when her business partner requested their meeting to be near her place and she’s living in Las Vegas. They offer her a room in their house but she opted to stay in the hotel because she wants the good accommodation there. She asked me to have some chit chat lunch together when she goes home. Well all my friends abroad always tell me that and I’ll certainly wait for them.

Something New For Us

I’ve been arranging the house interiors different from last year as after the flood we’ve had some changes in our furniture. We’ve given out some of our furniture and kitchen things to start with fresh beginnings and forget the things destroyed by flood. We still have majority of our appliances but we’re thinking of adding some new beautiful addition to our house like a new sofa, new paint colors for the walls or maybe plasma mounts in the living room. We’ve done major changes in our front yard and gate and we’re still planning for some more like changing our floor vinyl tiles. I think it’s the air of new year that’s bringing us to seek for some new in our lives. The fever of new year is really catching us up.

Prudent Gen

Gen is saving up for her MP5 player and she wanted me to deposit it on the bank so she’ll not be tempted to get it from me. I admired her frugal ways of saving all her money for the things that she wants. Actually we’ve already found a cheaper brand of what she like but I told her that I don’t trust the shop that we visited and it would be better if we’ll buy a good branded one from one of the gadgets tech shop in Greenhills. One of my parent friends in school who has a seaman husband has been selling one of her MP3 players to me at a discounted price but Gen told me she really wanted a new MP5 player. Oh well for me it’s really best to let her save for it and get the best that she wants because as young as her age she’s learning to save and use her money wisely. That’s a good training when she grows old.

Renewing Month

It’s another year again and it’s also time to renew licenses, memberships and some insurances. My main concern now is to look for cheaper insurance to cover our health and our car. For our health insurance we have one to cover the whole family although it’s limited only. I still have to search and choose the best insurance quote that will fit my family’s specific needs. There are lots of things to consider when you’re looking for the best and it’s good when you have choices so you’ll know what the companies has to offer. When it comes to car insurance you need to be extra careful in choosing because accidents happen when you least expected it especially when you’re in busy expressway like in the south and north expressway. Oh well this month will also be a busy month for me as my daughter Gen and DH will have their birthdays on the 12th and 22nd. They’re suggesting of a joined birthday celebration. Sounds pretty good!

Caring for My Teeth

Back to work now and back to school also for the kids. I’m still sick from over fatigue but I’m glad that I can still work for few hours because my mind is full of ideas from the holiday activities. Last month was a real hectic month for me as that’s my birthday month, our high school silver alumni, our church camp meeting fellowship and of course the holiday season. I felt bloated with lots of dinner, parties, get together and camping but will start my healthy meal plan next week.

It’s time to check out my dentist again for a return schedule for my dental checkup. As my teeth are not straight my dentist is suggesting some solutions on how to make my teeth more beautiful and presentable. I’m asking for fixed bridge quotation which is really expensive but can remedy my dental disorder but I saw another solution just like I saw from Orange NJ invisalign which can align teeth without pain. I’m really saving some of my hard-earned money for my teeth as it’s one of the most important parts of our body; it affects health and the way you deal with other people. I still have one month to decide and I hope I’ll be able to choose the better solution for me. I don’t want to grow old with weak teeth.
