Diet Day One

I’ve started another attempt of dieting yesterday and I’m still searching and thinking of other ways to completely rid of some temptations to avoid foods with fat and too much salt. I’ve started with having these foods yesterday:

Breakfast – Oatmeal, I’ve avoided coffee and instead had one glass of water

Lunch - Wheat bread with tuna flakes

Afternoon snack – (can’t avoid when you’re working in an office) Wheat bread with tuna flakes, taken before 6 pm to avoid being hungry at night lol!

Dinner - Banana

Rap's Investigatory Report

Bro was here, they need to create an email address for Ate Mariz for a new business venture they’ve been entering. They’re still waiting for their PLDT DSL connection up to now. When Rap (my nephew) learned that his parents were here he asked them to research an investigatory project for him as his teacher gave him a new topic instead of the usual soap-making project. Together we searched for the process used in making vegetable oil as fuel for car. We immediately found what we’re looking for and in 10 minutes time we had it ready for Rap.

I got interested in what we researched, set aside my blogging and read the making of fuel out of vegetable oil. It’s true and I’m going to write some specific details about it on my next post. I’m going to sleep now to recover from my overnight blogging yesterday.

She Loves Sightseeing

My architect friend Jacqui has been invited by her sister to spend a three-month vacation in New York and she was very excited at the invitation. She turned over her work as a resident architect of a 5-storey building in Quezon City to a mutual friend of ours. Anyway our mutual friend is an engineer so handling of her projects didn’t seem to be that hard when she finally left her work for New York.

My friend has been dieting at that time and the only thing that she didn’t like in her sister’s house is the kind of food available there. She likes fish and the only fish readily available in their place are frozen so she didn’t have much choice in food. Since she can’t continue her no-pork no-beef diet her sister asked her to join in New York City Sightseeing so she’ll have more time roaming around the city and less time in the house to avoid eating too much. She joined the sightseeing tours by CitySights, a known company which provides hop-on, hop-off bus tours which uses top-deck only seats so you’ll get to see beautiful views of New York City and its attractions. They also offer sightseeing packages with museum visits, helicopter tours, harbor cruises, shopping day trips and motorcoach trips.

My friend called me up and told me that her vacation was superb. She had the chance of seeing Statue of Liberty, Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Uptown and Downtown and Manhattan City, you know an architect really loves seeing magnificent houses and buildings. I was happy to know that she had a wonderful sightseeing vacation in New York.

Clearing Away

DPWH workers started the clearing and construction works since Monday but I think they are assessing reactions of the people the reason why their works are slow. After three days of their clearing works I've found only 4 compounds which have finished the clearing. Some of my neighbors are really hesitant to clear their properties because that would mean the start of their zero sales for their businesses.

Since my brother is living in another barangay I've asked him to go to the house and instruct the DPWH team as to what they should do with our stonewalls and gate, clear instruction should be given to ensure that proper restoration will be done. Our neighbors keep on telling us that we're really lucky that my father did a great house plan when he renovated our house in the late '70s. Our house is the only one in our place that has a 5-meter setback which allowed us now to have a little more space remaining for a garden or store after the widening.
