Designer Engineer

As my engineer brother is into construction business I’ve always been acquainted with house design and the things needed to construct residential and small buildings. I’m familiar with ordering construction materials as when I’m younger I do purchasing and bill of materials for him.

Now that constructing houses has reached modern innovations I’m quite impressed at how he manages to put architecture into engineering. He himself can design beautifully without architect on hand and with it he always adds special touch to his residential projects. I’ve seen most of his finished projects and I’m attracted to what he’s done with the floorings. He used porcelain tile in the living and dining room and I like the patterns that he applied. He’s truly a designer at heart!

:Today's Flowers #46

This is another beautiful blooms of nature, a white flower full of innocence and simplicity. This photo was taken in Nabas, Aklan where flowers bloom so beautifully even on small residential gardens only. Oh I always love white flowers be it daisy, chrysanthemums, roses, hibiscus, sampaguita, orchids or any other kind because they exude an air of purity and innocence. You just have to be careful with your shots to capture their best pic!

My Home Office

I had a talk with my boss regarding my long overdue resignation and finally he granted what I’m asking for. I couldn’t be happier with the current change in my life and now I’m having some plans on putting up my own business and setting up my own little office at home.

After three weeks I’m leaving my work and as I’m doing freelance writing job I wanted to do it in an office atmosphere even if I’m at home. As early as now I’m looking for office furniture that would suit my requirements and needs, one that I can work with ease and comfort just like when I’m in an office. I want to work that way and in a specified area to have a discipline on my time and to balance my household work with my freelance works. I know I can do that with just a little planning ahead of time.

Thursday Challenge : Summer 'Camp Site'

This is our venue for our summer camp fellowship last April 2009. We rented Villa Dominga Forest Resort in Indang Cavite for 3 days and held our semi-yearly camp fellowship there amidst the beauty of the plantation and resort. Flowers are blooming so beautifully and the weather was just perfect, we had sunshine the whole day but you can breathe and feel fresh cold air.

Resting On Chaise Lounges

During weekend dayoffs and holidays it’s nice to be with your family the whole day. You can do everything you want, you can watch movie in your home video, play indoor games, sing on videoke or just have some little talks while having picnic in your backyard. Remember that quality time spent with your family is one of the precious thing in your life so better do it most often.

Working mothers like me when experiencing pressures on work sometimes daydreams of just staying at home with their kids while resting on outdoor chaise lounges. It erases pressures to think of things like that and it gives me a real happy thought. Anyway I’m resignation is on its way so I’ll be putting those daydreams in reality soon.

I'm The Kitchen

Browsing through personality quizzes my eyes lingered on this one asking what room of the house I'm supposed to be according to my views and ways. I can't pass this one because I wanted to find out if the answer will be the one I'm most inclined to stay most of the times. After answering and getting the results I was amused to find that indeed my guess was right- I'm The Kitchen'. It makes sense as I really stay longer there because I love cooking! Here's the results of my quiz:

You Are the Kitchen

You are creative and inspired. You have a lot of projects going on.

You are also a homebody who enjoys a cozy night with a nice home cooked meal.

You are generous and giving. You enjoy taking care of people.

You have a knack for knowing what each person needs most.

:WW - Education

This photo was taken at my daughter's school library, wondering why they chose this painting then I surmised that it's a representation of education. I would like to meet the author and painter of this one because I think it's a great and exciting painting, not directly depicting education but in someway it represents education.

Rare Coin Investment

Due to my family’s immediate needs for my time and attention I’m retiring early this July. As early as now I’m contemplating on some good business ideas or another freelance online work to add to my present online job. As I’m expecting my separation pay I’m thinking of investing it to something that appreciates value. As my job requires a lot of online browsing I came to find rare coin investment by Monex which offers rare gold coins to collectors and investors alongside their other precious investment products like silver, gold and bullion bars. I agree on them that gold whether it’s a coin or bullion bars can be regarded as a good investment that will give you a good profit after several years.

:WW - School Boy!

Josh posed for me here yesterday as he wears his new school uniform, St . Audry changed their uniform from navy/sailor collar to this one plus a revision on the necktie. I actually prefer this one than the old polo he had for the last two years because it made Josh looks a lot boyish. See his hands here, such a cutie ! (Mom always say that :-) )

:Today's Flowers #44

This is just an ordinary flower, what caught my attention is the petite yellow bloom that emerged from the core of the petals. I thought it just fallen from another plant but after second look I noticed that it's in there. Take note also that upon setting the camera on a macro setting the flower changed its color from pink to orange.

Philippines 111th Independence Day!

Grabbed this Operation 111 from Cecile of by Cecile of Kitchen.... The Heart of Our Home, thanks sis for this one :-)! This is in commemoration of Philippine Independence Day.

"The Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo (later to become the Philippines' first Republican President) proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. The declaration, in the form of a proclamation, in the presence of a huge crowd, was done on June 12, 1898 at the ancestral home of General Emilio Aguinaldo between four and five in the afternoon in Cavite el Viejo (now Kawit), Cavite, some 30 kilometers South of Manila. The event saw the unfurling of the National Flag of the Philippines, made in Hong Kong by Mrs. Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfina Herboza, and the performance of the Marcha Filipina Magdalo, as the Nation's National Anthem, now known as Lupang Hinirang, which was composed by Julian Felipe and played by the San Francisco de Malabon Marching band."

Need To Get Back!

Lately I feel I’m gaining weight little by little again, maybe because I came back to work a month ago. Some of my friends in the church told me that sitting for a long period of time gets you out of shape. This can be true because working in an office sometimes requires you to stay in your place longer especially if you’re concentrating on finishing some projects.

My mom always reminds me to stand and walk a little at least before an hour strikes on the clock. She said it will help me exercise my limbs a little and free my stomach and hips from being on the same position. Oh well I was thinking maybe I should get a job that will require me to stand and walk for a long time but what kind of job would that be? Or maybe I should try some diet pill to remedy my excess weight faster than I imagined.

There are more ways than one to get back into shape and I know plenty of exercise and balanced meal plan will do justification but the most important of all is discipline. Everything will follow and materialize if I will discipline myself on many things like I should sleep at least 6 hours, I should avoid too much coffee and sweets and I should return to my walking exercises that I used to do. Last is – I should remind myself everyday about this plan.

School Again!

My two girls were back to school again early this week the first day of the month. Though I heard some of the kids nearby were so hesitant to start schooling again Ruth and Gen were so excited that first day. They've prepared their things a week before the classes start and they woke up early to welcome their first day. I always go with them on their first day to see their new school rooms, their classmate friends and their set of teachers. I want their advisers to see how I support my kids. On that morning I get to see my co-parents friends, my friends since my kids were in first grade and we're all intact up to this time. A little sad that we've only two years left to be with each other, before our kids will enter high school. For now we'll just enjoy our company.
