Selecting the Best Fit For Your Little One’s Education

As your little one gets ready to take on their first true educational experiences in preschool and kindergarten, it is important to find the right fit. As you look at different types of schools, with some research, you will be sure to find the right one for your little one.

Types of Schools

It is important to understand that not all schools are created the same. This is why you must do your research. An accredited montessori schools Redmond WA will likely have a very different approach and philosophy than a Waldorf or public school.

Knowing Which Type is Right For You

As you begin to decipher which type of school is the best fit, it is important to evaluate your and your child’s needs. The school’s approach to child development, discipline and exploration should all align with your home life and personal philosophy. If you pick a lofty choice for the prestige alone, you are likely to have an ill-fitted match in the end.

Areas to Observe

As you look to select the best fit, schools will often present their best foot forward during presentations and visits. While they are there to support your child, they are often still functioning as businesses and need attendees to fund programs. As you assess the school during your visit, be observant of important areas that can give you a true sense of the fit and a true impression.

Additional Offerings

Selecting a school can be a big commitment, so make sure to take the time to evaluate all areas of the school. If they offer before and after programs, extracurricular opportunities and community engagement, these are all influential factors to pay attention to.

It is important to pick a preschool that best fits their and your needs while also challenging them and teaching them necessary skills, values and knowledge will set them up for the future. With this well-considered choice, you can know they are off to a successful start.

How to Prepare Your Child for School

Sending your child off to school is bittersweet. It is a beautiful thing to get to watch your little one grow into his own person and become more independent, but it can be hard to let go. When it comes time to send your kid to school, you may not know exactly how to handle it. Here are a few ideas that can help make the transition a little bit smoother.

Find the Right School

Public school is not right for every kid. If you think your child might thrive in a different environment, look into your options, such as Sammamish private schools. There are also alternative learning environments for students who learn differently. Do some research and ask around to figure out what works best for your little one.

Create a Routine

Most children thrive on routine. Once kids start school, their daily schedule changes, so their routine needs to be altered as well. Make a chart of what needs to be done before and after school. You can even create a point system to help get your child motivated to get his chores done.

Keep an Open Dialogue

Try going beyond just asking your kid how school was that day. Keep an open dialogue with him and go into specifics. Starting this off early can help you avoid getting one-word answers in the years to come. It can also help your child feel more comfortable coming to you if something isn't going right at school.

Remember that it is important for you to put on a brave face for your little one. If he sees that you are excited about him going to school and you make it sound like a fun place, then he is more likely to want to go each day. It will take time to adjust to the new schedule, so give it time and just be there for your baby.

4 Tips for Dealing with Mommy Guilt

One of the things that a lot of people don't address is mommy guilt. It can be really difficult to deal with leaving your little one behind when you have to go to work or take care of yourself. When you hear your little one crying when you leave, it can lead to terrible mom guilt. This is an especially emotional experience for a new mother. Consider these four tips when you're looking to work through mom guilt.

1. Understand that it's normal.
You're not the only mom who has struggled with the terrible feelings of guilt. Nothing is wrong with you. After all, you've carried this child in your womb. You have a level of attachment that's unmatched.

2. Consider the alternative.
If you didn't go to work, you wouldn't be able to provide for your child. Sure, there are tons of moms who are rich and can stay with their children. Don't beat yourself up for not being one of them. You're a hard worker who is doing the best she can for her child. Focus on the fact that if you didn't go to work, you and your child would be homeless. Then, you'd both be crying a whole lot more. Consider the alternative as it can help you maintain a level of perspective.

3. Create diversions.
Once you give your hugs and kisses, see if it's possible to escape without your baby realizing. When you can slip out of the room, this diminishes the likelihood of tons of tears. A lot of times, a baby just needs to be distracted while you leave. They'll hardly notice that you're gone when they're having fun. A lot of times, the drawn-out coddling and tears only make things worse. Make the goodbyes short, sweet and succinct.

4. Know that your baby is in good hands. If you've hired the best in infant care tampa, you know that your baby is in good hands. It'd be one thing if your child was in the hands of someone you didn't trust or believe in. But, when you're a mom, you'll have to understand that no one will care for your baby like you can. However, they will still do an incredible job of loving and caring for your baby in a way their special way.

Choosing the Right Christian Preschool for Your Kids

preschool kids outside having fun

craft time for the preschoolers

The United States Center for Public Education's Data First program indicates that slightly more than one-quarter of all kids across the United States were enrolled in preschool by the time they were four years old - this research is based on 2013 data. Over the years, even more parents have started enrolling their children in preschool because many public and private school systems alike recommend it, pre-K programs effectively double as a daycare, and more research has shown that high-quality. pre-K programs do young people well.

Private schools are largely better than their public counterparts. Many private schools are religious-based. Why not enroll your children in a Christian preschool, given that you support Christian values?

Picking An Appropriate Christian Preschool Isn't A Walk In The Park

Parents simply looking to drop their children off at preschool prior to work might not vet those programs at all. If you're reading this, you're obviously a concerned parent. Arguably the most important thing about Christian preschools you're looking into is whether they focus on the whole of your child or not. They shouldn't just teach your son or daughter things about the Holy Bible - teachers should help students grow cognitively in the name of the Lord, play fun Bible-themed games to stay active, constantly interact with fellow children, and learn to manage their emotions with the Holy Spirit in their corner.

Don't Be Afraid To Ask About Their Particular Beliefs

There are countless divisions of Christianity. Some differences are broad, whereas others are barely defined. Take a while to think about your interpretation of the Holy Bible and Christianity. When you visit potential preschool picks, politely but firmly ask about all teachers' and administrators' beliefs.

Look For Theological Training Or Degrees

Although preschool employees are less likely to have theological degrees than college professors at church schools, for example, Christian preschools with scholarly-proven team members are solid selections.

Christian preschools can do a lot for your child. You shouldn't have any trouble finding the best Christian pre-k tampa now. Good luck!

Learning English Can Be Fun and Exciting

If you really want to master anything in life, you will want to begin by making it fun. When we enjoy something, we are more likely to become active participants. When it comes to the learning process, we can comprehend and retain information that we are truly interested in. This gives you hope if you are wanting to learn English. It is important to want to learn a new language, as desire will bring about results. As you consider how best to learn English, look for ways to make it fun and exciting.

Relevance is the Key

Begin by taking a look at why learning English is important to you. For some, it is to get into a school abroad, while others look at English as a way to broaden their employment prospects. Still others want to learn English for purely personal reasons, such as for person fulfillment or to make leisure travel opportunities all the more exciting. Whatever the case might be for you, attending an ESL camp will help you achieve the results that you have been looking for. When English is important to you, it is more likely to stick. Attending an immersion experience is a great way to focus on your new language and practice your conversation.

Speak as Often as Possible

In order to really allow the English language so seep in, you need to speak it. Listening is simply not enough. You will want to make sure that you are given ample opportunity to practice conversational skills using a number of different scenarios. This will largely depend on the reason you are learning English in the first place, but look for experiences that are fun and exciting to you. Try to find places in your city where English speakers congregate. Strike up a conversation and see where it leads you.

Learning a new language is a big, yet rewarding step. You are to be commended. Do not lose focus, and do what it takes to make the process fun and exciting. As you do, you will see big strides beginning to be made over time.

Pirate Ship Playhouse

Source: hammacher.com via Race on Pinterest

My little boy saw this and he loves this and imagines playing in their school play as a pirate. This school year they were trained and taught different roles to play. He played as a politician, engineer, fireman, street boy and many other roles. He excitedly played them all and got good grades. With all of those plays we did some really hard to do props like fire truck, car, armor of God and a lot more.

His Dad contributed a lot in his school works arranging all costumes and things to use and even spent over nights. Anyway Josh just told me that this pirate playhouse is really cool and nice to play with his school friends with pirate costumes of course. Boys are boys and they really are excited over playing things they see on movies. Now if you're ready to play in this playhouse get ready with your costumes.

Remembering Josh on His First Grade

Josh is graduating from primary and I keep on remembering how he started his first grade. He was so naïve and very excited in entering a big school thinking that he could do everything he dreamed of in his new stage of life. From his first flag ceremony up to ending of classes in the afternoon he always finds some joy in every activity he joins. He’s such a happy schooler and very competitive too as he tops the class that makes him qualifies to join the cream section which was not given to him when I first enrolled him because he was only a transfer student. They only get students from their preparatory class to join the cream section in first grade.

Well it’s easy for Josh to elevate himself when he wants to like when he told me that he wants to learn how to play drum set in the 2nd grade in one summer workshop. He also enrolled in keyboard class when he was in 4th grade and continued his instrument playing up to now. It runs in the blood as they say because my grandpa used to play alpha and guitar in the past. Flair for music is even fun now because you can check online for the things you want like www.musiciansfriend.com/fender-jazzmaster or any other accessories for your instruments. This is one thing that I like about modern technology.

Schooling Plans for Josh

Josh is reaching his last months in primary school and will graduate before the school vacation. Time flies so fast and realizing this I can’t help but look back at my youngest kid’s first day in big school when he started his first grade. He was so young and the school staff mistakenly categorized him as a kinder student. He’s a bit smaller than kids his age and looks so cute and bubbly. I was working at home then and I had my full attention on him. I’m a super Mom (as my friends tagged me) and gave all my support and time to my 3 kids even if I work online for about 16-20 hours a day.

I enrolled Josh in school special activities like art school, music class and their ECA which you can choose whether you want violin, guitar, drums or keyboards. We have chosen keyboards which is very important to me and we planned to take violin the next year as we can always buy Used violins when the time comes. It didn’t materialized as Josh continued another year of playing keyboards but I told him that he can continue studying musical instruments if we decided to choose his present school for his secondary course. Well we’re still searching and looking for the best high school for him and wherever it is I know God will always guide him in his studies and music hobbies.

Ways to Prepare to Become a Contractor

Some people who eventually become home builders start out building small projects as a hobby. Perhaps it is the back porch, or a wheelchair ramp or a tree house in the back yard. When these projects are scaled to something larger that affects the construction of a house, however, there are other considerations. Because municipalities and cities require compliance with licensing, permits and building codes, it is vital to get more training to do this larger work. Many immediately find a way to encourage themselves through contractor license exam prep. There are three main ways to pursue this preparation.

Online Courses
Web-based classes are a popular way for people to prepare for the exam. Many do not live in a city or town that offers courses locally. Those who do many find it difficult to carve out a segment of time to dedicate themselves to studying outside of their own homes. Online courses are a natural way to ensure they find others who may be taking the same journey and adequately study the information. Courses often are either self-paced or operate through a portal with other participants.

Local College or Learning Center
Some colleges and universities capitalize on exam prep by partnering with organizations who offer the exams and making course material accessible for local residents. Often, they offer instructor-led courses or tutoring at local learning centers. Typically, these courses have the same learning aids as those taken online, but a live person is available to answer questions or assist with understand all the learning material. This is especially beneficial for those who know they are not likely to commit to the material if left to do it on their own.

Practice Exams
Some who prepare for licensing exams are more independent learners and choose to absorb the information on their own before taking the exam. Typically, these people are fast learners and benefit from practice exams. They are able to assess weaker knowledge areas and retake practice exams to boost their knowledge in those areas. Most practice exams are based on those given in previous years, and they give similar questions. Practice exams are recommended for all who are preparing for licensing because they also help reduce test anxiety.

Becoming a licensed contractor will require a commitment to intensive learning of all material. Those who excel know what kind of learners they are and take the right approach to preparing for the exam. No matter what your learning style, there is a right method to help you study.

Some of My Daughter’s Wishes

My girls in college are so busy with school activities especially Gen who has just started her journey to be a successful Industrial Engineer. As schooling is taking much of Gen’s time she could not play his favorite guitar on her whim. She loves picking up her guitar and practicing her well-loved pieces on her free time but now she really has no time for her hobby.

Well she promised herself that when holiday comes and she has no incoming exams she’ll relax and play not just her keyboard but her guitar as well. She told me that near her school she found all types of guitars of her choice and she’ll save money to buy one or two of those. I told her that she can buy all the musical instruments of her choice when she finished college and become an Engineer, just inspiring her to study hard.

Achieving Goals in Life

After years of perseverance and dedication in achieving his education goal DH is finally graduating this April with exemplary grades. He finally finished his degree in Secondary Education and hopes to teach this coming school year. We’re so proud of him and so his elder sister who contributed to making his dream comes true. She helped in financing his studies from Electronics Associate to a bachelor’s degree in Education.

Now she’s very proud that her little brother has his earned degree at his 40s. He proved that age doesn’t matter when it comes to fulfilling your goals and dreams in life. We’re very happy and proud of him and thinking of some nice gift for him like the class ring I saw online or his favorite accessory perhaps. Anyway he’s not expecting anything from me as he told me that supporting him on his years of studies is enough for him. Well I still want to give him something special for his big day.

How to Create an At-Home Library

If you love to read, you may have always dreamed of having your very own library at home. What’s better than a special place to store, browse, and delve into your favorite books? Read on for tips to help you create a book oasis in your own home.

1. Pick the location, preferably one that doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic. You should also choose a room that has doors so you can completely close off from the rest of the world!

2. Assess the number of books you have to determine how much shelving space you’ll need. If you have a ton of books that you plan on keeping, floor-to-ceiling shelves may be the best option. If you prefer to use an e-reader, you may only need a few free-standing shelving units.

3. Invest in great library furniture! The more space you have, the more library essentials you can add.

4. If you have a dining room that you never use, consider turning it into a library. Place comfy seating around the perimeter and add a throw rug to make the space more homey.

5. A large closet or unused hallway are ideal spaces for a library, especially if live in a small apartment or house!

Don’t let technology dissuade you - there are many reasons to have your own home library. Even if you prefer to read online, there’s nothing wrong with doing it in your own quiet space!

Take Your Students on a Summer Adventure Trip for Fun, Education and Lifelong Memories

Many schools and parents do not like the idea of school trips for a number of reasons such as the cost or the possible health and safety risks. However, schools trips are important to students and can have a highly beneficial effect on their education, helping them to build skills which they can use both inside and outside the classroom.

In the classroom students have set lessons and learn the same things as everyone else. It’s hard for them to go the extra mile when they are only learning from what their teacher tells them or the materials they are given. On a school trip, they are able to develop their skills and knowledge in areas of their choice, which can help them to become more interested in the subject in question. This makes trips a great opportunity for students to discover their individual strengths and talents.

Trips are ideal for helping students to work on their life skills such as teamwork and leadership. There will be lots of group activities taking place and this will help shyer students to bond with others and become more confident and will allow everybody to practice communicating and working together with other people to achieve something big. Skills like this will not only help them at school but will also provide them with valuable experience which they can use in their working life.

Summer adventure trips are especially great and should be encouraged because they are usually the best part of the school year, and will never be forgotten by the students who took part. They give students the chance to try new things and learn new skills which they would not have done otherwise, and can even lead to students discovering new hobbies. Students spend so much time indoors studying at school and continuing their studies when they get home that they miss out on a lot of free time which they could be spending enjoying their youth, and a summer adventure trip will allow them to spend valuable time with their friends having fun and enjoying their freedom whilst still being educated.

If you’re not sure where to start looking for a summer adventure trip, watersports centres are a great place to start. Students will be able to take part in activities such as kayaking, windsurfing, sailing and raft building and they’ll spend the duration of the trip being active and sociable and enjoying the great outdoors. Watersports centres are located in many different place but they’re usually near beaches, and if you decide to go abroad for your trip you can turn it into a fun holiday for your students. Teachers will get a break because there will be a tour guide or instructor in charge, which means they’ll be able to get to know the students in a more casual way and learn some new things themselves.

School trips are always the best part of the school year and give students a great opportunity to build up memories with their friends which they will treasure for a lifetime.

Pros and Cons of Off-Campus Housing

As you prepare to go to college, there are undoubtedly countless decisions on your mind. Which college should you go to? Which classes should you take? What should you major in? How can you get the least expensive price on books? The list goes on and on. Figuring out your housing situation can be one of the most difficult decisions of all. The first place to start is to determine if you want on- or off-campus housing. There are pros to both. Some prefer WVU off-campus housing for many reasons while some prefer on. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.

Rules

If you were to choose to go off campus, one pro is that the rules will be much fewer than those that would be found with on-campus housing. Of course, it depends upon which college you end up choosing as well as which type of off-campus housing you end up going with. If you are staying with relatives, those relatives set forth the only rules that apply. Typically that will not get you kicked out of school if you do not follow those rules, either.

Commute

There is much to be said for those few extra priceless minutes to get sleep or finish an assignment prior to heading off to class. Living on campus will save you time and help you to be on time as well. You won’t have to worry about bus schedules, filling up gas tanks, fighting off traffic, freezing as you walk, carrying heavy books for long distances, etc. Those who opt to go off campus will indeed be facing a bigger commute and therefore all that comes with it.

Social Life

The social aspect of it is different depending upon the student themselves and what they prefer. So it could be considered either a pro or a con depending upon your personal preference. Most would assume that you would have a more active social life if you live on campus merely because it is filled with other students at about your same age and interest level. On the other hand, if you are looking for a more mature place to socialize in, you may have much better luck with WVU off-campus housing.

Training Daughter In Doing School Papers

My daughter has plenty of projects even though holiday is very near. They also have a 40-page story paper due for submission next month after the vacation. Since they’re already teens they do their own assignments and I just help them with reviewing what they wrote and give them tips on how they can do it better. I want them to understand what they’re doing and to be creative as well. They excel in doing graphics and we just get some Brochure Printing Services when they’re finished with their work.

It’s sometimes cheaper to let others do the printing than print them on our own as our inks are more expensive. I’m amazed at how the students now can make a real artistic and stylish work out of the simple materials they have. They also cope best with high technology gadgets when doing their assignments and projects. That’s the perk of high tech innovations.

Obtaining Nurse-Midwifery Degree

A certified nurse midwife (CNM) specializes in healthcare for women, from adolescence through menopause. This nursing specialty is perfect for students who are interested in women's health and want to make a difference in the daily lives of their patients. Students who complete their CNM training are eligible to test for additional certifications, and can find jobs in a variety of advanced medical fields.

A nurse midwife is specifically trained to care for women throughout any health issues they may experience. Nurse midwives are trained to assist women with menarche and puberty issues, birth control, pregnancy and childbirth, and the changes that occur during menopause. These professionals are experts in every aspect of women's healthcare, bringing a unique perspective to the medical field. Some women find that they are able to visit a midwife for all their medical care, eliminating the need to visit an OB/GYN.

To enter a nurse midwife program, you must hold an RN license and possess a BSN degree. These prerequisites help guarantee that you have the basic qualifications required to enter the program, as well as to complete the work and excel throughout the process.

Students who are interested in obtaining their nurse-midwifery degree can opt to attend a brick and mortar school for their entire program. Another option is to work towards their degree through an online program, like the one offered by the University of Cincinnati at nursingonline.uc.edu. These programs allow students to work at their own pace, completing coursework in the evenings, on weekends, or at other times of day that are most convenient for them.

Nurses who hold the necessary certifications and degrees and are interested in completing their CNM certification online should take the time to evaluate several online programs. There are many options available, and depending on your income and qualifications, you may be eligible for scholarships or financial aid. Take the time to examine your options thoroughly before making a decision, as you'll want to choose a nursing program that you're happy with long term. Working toward an advanced nursing degree takes a great deal of effort and commitment, so be sure to choose the program that's right for your personality, your schedule, and your budget.

My Daughter’s Dreams and Determination

My eldest is now into her last year in secondary school and I can see that she’s making the best of it with regards to her best friends, school activities and everything that involves her school. She’s actually excited when we’re talking about her intended degree course in Interior Design. She has the talent and skills in designing and she hopes to study in two of my most favored universities in the city. She’s a very determined girl and I know she’ll be able to pass the exams.

Ruth is fast becoming a lady and little by little I see something of myself in her – her hobbies, flair for cooking, her art inclination and music. I believe now that we took something from our Mom be it in looks, personality, ways and even skills and talents. I always pray to God that He’ll guide all my kids in all their undertakings and dreams. I have these thoughts in my mind while I was browsing some nice graduation rings for girls which I’m thinking of buying in the next few months. I’ll have to ask her if she wants it because I always see graduation rings on graduating college students.

Benefits of Name Labels on Your Kids

I have three kids and throughout their first schooling years I did a lot of techniques on how to keep their things in order and intact. In the kid’s first years of going to school they don’t know how to keep their things all to themselves because their attention is devoted to their first teacher, their new school friends and on the new activities they are being introduced to. I’ve watched how my kids dealt with their first days and weeks in school and I saw how excited they were in learning new experiences.

Anyway I know how Moms like me are concern with their kids’ belongings like pencils, pencil case, lunch box, crayons and other things that they bring to school. It’s a common thing for these young school kids to miss their crayons or pencils when their things fall on the ground and they didn’t notice them. How many times that my youngest son would go home without his pencils which has become a common occurrence for us.

With all these problems with missing school things I’ve learned to solve it by making a distinctive mark that will help my kids identify their own thing when mixed with other things of their classmates. Making name labels for kids seem to be the only solution for this problem because it paves the way for others to identify your things and when found by others they will know where and whom they will return it. It will save you money too because all your kid’s belongings will just come back everytime they lost it.

Every year I made it a point to make not just ordinary name labels for my kids but distinctive ones also. I make beautiful name labels with some pictures or images also on some of their things except for the books and notebooks which has a standard pattern requested by the teachers. In doing these labels you’ll be spared from worrying about lost items and will teach our kids also on how they will be able to protect their things and look for them when they’ve lost it. They will just look for their name labels attached on the items and they will be able to identify it fast and easy.

Josh' Recognition Day

After ten months of studying hard and giving all his efforts in all their activities in class my little boy made it to the top.  It's hard to be on the top of their class because they're all good and the school choose only 3 per grade level to include in their recognition rite.  This year they've picked up 6 in Josh' class to give medals and certificates to recognize the students' best endeavor not just in examinations but in all of their school programs and extra curricular activities.

My son is very happy with the announcement that he'll be included in the ceremony for the honor students and he's so excited with their mini play and presentation.  He whispered to me that he'll be more attentive and diligent next school year so he'll be in the top 3.  For me with or without honor I'll still be proud of my son.  He'll always be the top student for me :-)
