My Bes' Blog Mentioned In Inquirer

Bes JennyL sent me a message about how her blog was mentioned in Phil. Daily Inquirer's story about Charice Pempengco. I was a bit busy then (as always) so I just posted this only today. It was a small line only but it brought us excitement nevertheless. Here's a part of her scanned copy of the Inquirer story where her Slice of Life blog was mentioned (I just grab a part of her scanned copy from her, the complete copy is in her blog).

For complete story on this you can visit her writeup on her blog Slice of Life. Blogging really gives us not just the means to express our thoughts but be recognized and mentioned as well. Congrats Bes!

Open Media Site

Keeping up with the news is very important in our life that’s why we buy daily newspapers, subscribed to magazines, watch news on television and update ourselves over internet for current news around the world. It’s part of our life and without it it’s like living on far away uncivilized areas. We need to keep track of what’s happening in our community, our own country and around the globe.

As a very busy person with a full time job in the office and part-time job at night I find it hard sometimes to read the latest updates on newspapers or watch television so I just turned to news on the net for the things that I want to know. It’s nice to know that now there’s allvoices, a site that allows anyone to report news from anywhere around the world. It’s a media that’s open to all and because of this you can update yourself with the current news on people, web2.0 politics coverage, stories all over the world and many other news updates, you can even report your own if you want to. You can contribute news and report them via mobile phones and your personal computers to share videos and news. You can connect and participate in the discussion adding comments to stories or you can add your voice for those who really want to have their piece of the news casting.

It’s really a great help for people who want to report news and to know what’s happening around them. It’s like having your news at your fingertips just like me browsing all news that interests me and I find it worthwhile.

Our News Anchor!

We were having breakfast this morning when my 5-year old son Josh refused to drink his milk. He said that it might contain ‘lamine’ I can’t understand him but he told me sheepishly that he heard some news that some milk and milk products contains ‘lamine’. I guessed that he mean melamine, he just heard the last syllables I think but I was amazed that even young boy like Josh might be concerned with what everyone else is worrying about. I told him that his milk is manufactured here and doesn’t in any way contain melamine and that Mommy will see to it that everything that he’ll be eating is free from that chemical.

Then after hearing those words he started to drink his milk again and asked me the foods and products I know that contain the dangerous ‘M’. He’s got photographic memory that’s why every show and news that he sees he remembers well. I’m so careful with what I’m telling him because he might tell it to his classmates. He’s very good in telling news in bits and pieces. Told him he might be a good news anchor someday lol!

Better Safe Than Sorry

There's a big commotion here about foods containing Melamine, a white, crystalline, slightly water-soluble solid, used chiefly in organic synthesis and in the manufacture of resins, esp. melamine resins. Melamine by itself is nontoxic in low doses, but when combined with cyanuric acid it can cause fatal kidney stones. News about animal poisoning last year caused by contaminated pet food containing melamine was found in wheat gluten supplied by China. Now news about death due to contaminated milk poisoning was again traced back in China. Milk powder containing melamine has made thousands of infants ill and some others killed.

Now the government called back other dairy products and tested their contents. The result was positive that's why groceries and supermarkets removed the affected products from their store. I checked my gift baskets containing groceries just to make sure that none of them is on the list.

We as consumers must be aware of the list of foods that should not be consumed. This list was actually forwarded and emailed to me by my friend in Australia. It's not bad to take precautionary measures so we should avoid the list for now. Better safe than sorry I think.

My PR

Wow great news! I was informed by my friend that I've got PR3 for this blog. Can't believe because this blog is really new and haven't had much time posting in this blog though this is special to me as this blog speaks about special moments in my life. So I guess I'll have to thank my friends, visitors and those readers who blog hop and care to read my entries. Like what my friend was telling me just an hour ago some good things are coming our way!
