Three Steps to a Better You This Spring

There is nothing like the spring season to inspire people to better themselves, whether it is by cleaning their homes or by improving their lifestyles. The warmer weather and longer days also make it easier than ever to commit to a healthy way of living each day. If you have been inspired recently to improve yourself, let the spring encourage you to keep going. Here are a few steps that you can take in the coming months to help you be the very best you that you can be.

First of all, think about the people that you are surrounding yourself with and ask yourself if they are helping you to be as good of a person as you can be. If not, now is the time to find friends who can really support you as you improve yourself. Think about joining a christian women empowerment group or another group of friends who are working to make their lives better. Sometimes it is easier to change ourselves if the people around us have good habits and lifestyles, so why not welcome people like that into your life this spring?

Next, look at your daily routine and habits and ask yourself how you can make small changes that will add up to big results? For example, if you find yourself wasting money on an expensive and fattening drink every morning, you could make a big impact on both your weight and your wallet by choosing a replacement. Can you find an awesome online recipe that will allow you to make the fancy coffee drinks that you love at home for a fraction of the cost and calories? That one step can set you up for a whole day of success.

Finally, be sure that you are kind to yourself this spring. Set aside time each day to see how you are feeling and give yourself the kind of love that you deserve. Positive thinking and speaking will pay off in the long run with practice!

Shadow Of Your Wings!

I’ve been listening early in the morning for my favorite Christian songs when I picked Shadow of Your Wings by Australia Hillsongs and Darlene Zschech. This song truly proves that God is our refuge and strength in times of trouble and problem. There’s no one that we can be assured that we’re safe and protected from any harm. In His care we can cast away all our burdens and anxieties this world has given us. It’s like hiding in the shadow of His wings where we can be safe and peaceful within. Here’s a rundown of the lyrics, feel free to savor the meaning of each line.

God Is Our Guide

I was a bit shocked and saddened by the text message that I received last Friday that my first cousin Ka Viring passed away Thursday night. We’re not expecting news like that because my brother told us that her husband is the one who has been experiencing sickness in his body. Life is like that you’ll never really know who will pass away first. We got there (Me, Redge and Kuya) past 9pm last Saturday evening because bro had some bible study schedules during the day. It was a slightly dangerous travel because we have to pass the mountain road in going to and fro Laguna and Rizal. We’re just confident that God will guide us in our travel. We learned that our cousin didn’t tell her family of her breast cancer until such time that it’s too late to cure it. Maybe she has reasons of her own for hiding it but we and her family were so sad to learn that she knew of her sickness and never told it to anyone.

After more an hour or two we traveled back to our home and because it was already near to midnight we just took it slowly. We traveled in dark winding road with trust in God that He’ll hold us safely in His arms. It was a tricky road ahead of us with two instances in our trip that we encountered thick fog with us seeing nothing for a minute or two. Thanks God we crossed the mountainous road safely. We stayed awake the whole trip to avoid my bro from getting sleepy. We reached our home in God’s gracious guidance at 12 midnight.

Name Tags

Thanks to Nanay Belen this tag, I like this tag because I also want to share with you friends my reasons for choosing my kids’ names

—START TAG—

OUR KID’S NAMES: List all of your kids’ names, or even just one. It's up to you. Write down the story or the reason why you chose it. If you’re expecting or planning to have more kids and already have a name for them …. list them down too.

My first princess’ (we call our daughters princess) name is JULIANNE RUTH. She was born months after my father died, his name was Julian which means Youthful and since I’m the favorite and look alike child of my father we’re happy to name our first child after my father so the sound of my father’s name will always ring around the house. Her second name Ruth which means A Companion, Friendshipwas derived from the Old Testament character Ruth because I admire the strong character of this woman who was a loyal daughter-in-law of Naomi. We believe that the characters of the person you named after will reflect in your kid somehow. Now Ruth has a very strong character, not easily intimidated and can decide on her own.

My second princess’ name is GENESIS ANNE. Noticed that they both have Anne in their names – Anne which means Gracious. Genesis means the Beginning and knows why we used it? After Ruth’s delivery we encountered little hardships because we spent big amount when I was suddenly subjected to caesarean delivery. When I found that I was pregnant with my second child we were blessed with many spiritual and financial blessings as the oldies call it ‘lucky’. We took it not as a lucky thing but rather a ‘beginning of grace and blessing’. She grew up as the nicest kid in my family, always charming and nice.

My third child and the only prince is JOSHUA ISAAC , the youngest and the most active in all levels, in speech and in action. He’s the promised son just like Isaac to Abraham, because we didn’t know that we’re going to have a son. Our close friend in the church dreamed about me having a baby boy in my lap months before I got pregnant. We were glad when we heard it and believe that God will do his promise of giving us a son. Isaac also means ‘He Will Laugh’. His first name Joshua which means ‘Jesus Saves’ was a very strong character in the bible, the right hand of Moses and the mighty warrior who took over his leadership when he was taken by God. He’s the blessed leader in which God made the SUN STAND STILL when they fought with the big army. This brave soldier was blessed with many miracles in the field of fighting for the land of the chosen people of God. Now Josh grew up as a kid who always laughs and always tells us that he wants to be a soldier, we tell him that he’ll be a soldier of God just like Joshua, a modern day Joshua who will fight life with the words of God

I am passing this tag to Cecile, Geng, JennyR, Yen and Emzkie.

Purpose In Life

I was talking to an office friend and we were talking about people’s different purpose in life. The message in her church discussed about it and it really took her attention real serious. So what is really our purpose in life, would you know? Actually it took awhile for others to see their real objective and goals in life; sometimes it took some years before they realize their true purpose for living in this earth. Others are lucky to know it in the early stages of their life. But one thing is certain each one of us has each own reason and function in life, you just have to know and pray for it.

--- The Best Gift Ever ---
A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said,"With all your money you give me a Bible?"And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was verysuccessful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matthew 7:11,"And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?" As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessing because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for...

PLS. SEND THIS TO AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE SO AS TO LET THIS GREAT LESSON FLOW AROUND.
End Copy

Lesson I learned: (The best gift doesn't always come with the nice packages, the Bible itself is a gift)

Each Person Is Special To Jesus

We were buying something on a nearby supermarket near the house when I heard a little boy commenting on the other boy’s limp walking. He wasn’t aware that we heard his bad remarks. The other boy who was the focus of his bad remarks was so embarrassed and left the supermarket immediately. On the other hand the little boy who commented was reprimanded by his mom.

To mothers with this kind of situation must know that your child may not understand that his words can affect the feelings of other people. He may not be aware that the people in the supermarket hear his commentary words. If your kid comments negatively about the looks, disability and appearance of strangers around him, he can be doing it innocently thinking that those people are like the characters in his television – unable to hear and respond. We as mothers should then explain to our child in a gentle way that everyone has feelings and they might get hurt by our negative comments. Tell him that Jesus wants us to be kind and He loves us all. You’ll help your child like and accept others by telling him that each person is special to Jesus.
