:Today's Flowers #135: Petite Red Blooms

Pretty petite red blooms from a tree. I've found it near my kid's school and I just can't just pass without taking a shot.Yes it's a tree and not just a plant, we have this kind since I was a child but when the road was widened it was cut off to give way for the road. Sad :(
Anyway it's easy to plant it but we just can't regrow it now because of the space it requires, maybe someday.  For beautiful flowers around the world and red-themed photos just click at the badges above to view.

:TF/RT/MYM : School Blooms

Click the image to enlarge

I accompanied dear daughter when she represented her school in basic encoding skills in the inter-town division and we were so early there.  I really wanted to be on time and we're surprised that only few were early for the competition.  Anyway to pass the time we rounded the school's compound and found this flower scattered through the canteen compound. I found the flower shape striking as it looks like little red leaves but it's really flowers.

:Today's Flowers #116/Ruby Tuesday: Little Red Blooms

Click the image to enlarge
We had a tree which bring forth this petite red blooms since childhood but lost it  when the national road widened and our garden was minimized into half of its original size.  This shot was taken beside  the little boy's school.  When I saw the tree I remembered our own old tree which becomes red when these little blooms appear. Hmmm I noticed I'm becoming sentimental these days! Just missing the old days when dear old daddy was still alive and gardening with my Mom.

:Ruby Tuesday/Wordless Wednesday: Lovely Contrast

Click the image to enlarge

This has caught my attention because I love flowers and these red santan are beautifully trimmed to form a circular shape surrounding the pale-leaves tree. I love the stark contrast between the trees pale mint (almost white) leaves and the vivid color of red. Just perfect! Btw this landscape can be seen at the parking lot of Ever shopping mall in Ortigas. Will love having it in our garden :-)

:Today's Flowers #111/Ruby Tuesday: SIL Blooms

Click the image to enlarge
This is one of the flowers in my sister-in-law's garden in UK which I asked her to share  with me for my blog.  Gardening and growing beautiful flowers like this one is one of the favorite hobbies of ate Zen.  This is only one of her pretty blooms.  I've featured her Dahlia here few weeks ago.  She's a little sad that her garden will only last for a few months because when winter sets in she'll say goodbye to them and restore the garden again on spring unlike here in our tropical country where you can have your garden the whole year round, well on stormy days you can just bring the flowers on pots inside the house to protect them.

I wish she can send those blooms here before the winter lol!

:Today's Flowers #111/Ruby Tuesday: Vietnam Rose

Click the image to enlarge
This is my take for this week's Today's Flowers and Ruby Tuesday.  This was taken in the village where my MIL lives.  We had a weekend vacation there and rounded up the village for a morning exercise.  When I noticed these petite blooms outside the gate of one house the owner suddenly came out and talked to us.  I thought she didn't want strangers but on the contrary asked me if I want to get some blooms so I can grow them also.  What a sweet neighbor.  She then asked us who is our relative in the village but guessing as she ask us confirming her guess because she said my husband had the same deep set eyes and Indian looks :-)

Now we also have the same blooms in our garden but I want to go back there to get some more lavender and pink blooms.  There are variety of vietnam rose colors like red, yellow, pink, lavender and red orange.

:Today's Flowers/Ruby Tuesday: Dahlia

Click the image to enlarge
My SIL is very fond of gardening and she has lots of flower plants in her garden in Trent. G.B.  I've seen how pretty her garden is and I told her that I would post in my blogs her collection.  She shared her precious pics to me and I'm sharing this lovely Red and White Dahlia.  Such a striking combination for a flower.  I just love the pattern of shades.

:Today's Flowers#101/Ruby Tuesday - Rooster Cockscombs

Click the images to enlarge

I'm still asking the name of this flower because my Mom calls it 'Palong Manok' because it resembles the Rooster cockscombs, all I know of this one is they're blooming so beautifully in our hometown in Laguna. Though, this one is not from Laguna. I got this shot from my Mom-in-law's garden in Montalban. I noticed that they grow in clusters!

:Today's Flowers/Ruby Tuesday : The Fire Tree

Click the images to enlarge

You can see them every where and they're blooming oh so beautifully. I like this red-orange blooms which seems to fit exactly to its name because It's really like a fire tree when you see them from afar the tree with blooming flowers of the same color as fire. See the second shot with petals all around the ground under it.

:BM/RT: Gen's Recognition Day

I'm posting here my dear daughter's recognition ceremony. Gen has been so focused and devoted on her goals of returning to the top five of her class having lost it last year and been included only in the top ten of the class. She's a consistent honor since her preparatory school and last year's failure to be at the top five didn't put her down but instead gave her inspiration to study and persevere more.

On the last week of March all her efforts has been rewarded because she got the 4th place in her grade 5 section 1 class of more than 50 students. I'm proud of her not being on the top five but of her dedication and positive attitude that she can make it again to come back in her former place. I'm very happy and proud of her. God helped her achieve her goals.

Sharing her photos here:

Josh' Moving Up Ceremony

MellowYellowBadge
Before the Ceremony

Align Center With Friends With Lola DearJosh graduated from preparatory school last Monday the 22nd day of March and we're all excited about his last moving up ceremony as preparatory student. He's going to move up to primary schooling next school year and the whole family is all giddy about it. I had tons of pics (as always) and I just picked some for this site. I'll be posting some on my other blogs.

For this year he got the 2nd place, the Best in Reading award and that makes it three in a row. On his nursery he got the 2nd place also and last year in his kinder class he got the 1st place making him the class valedictorian. He also have a Loyalty Award because he's been in St. Audrey since nursery. This is the first time that he didn't have a piece to speak as in the last two years he's the one who delivers the speech for the giving of certificates to the honors. The speech was in Filipino language and I think it's more appealing to the graduates and parents. My opinion only of course!

As always St. Audrey is on time with the graduation ceremony finishing it before the kids gets tired much to my relief! We started at 8:30 am and before 10am we've finished with the photo shoot. We headed to our house to pick Mom and ate at Josh' fave KFC. At lunch time we brought packed foods to Ruth & Gen.
