Strength Is....

Myspace Motivation Graphics Quotes

I believe people get stronger when he experience trials in life. It’s how we get strength. I remember having a problem and my Pastor told me that if I conquer my trials and be a survivor I will gain strength from it. Why? Because I’ll know how to conquer my fears and face the trials in life. We release our pain and ask guidance through our prayers. We gather strength from God.

She Loves Dressing Up

I’ve been thinking of gift ideas for my SIL’s eldest daughter. I know they almost have everything because they were provided for by their parents. I just thought that she would like a good pair of ugg boots when the season in UK gets cold again. She loves dressing up and pairing them with a pretty pair of footwear will complete her look. She looks like the daughter of a well known actress here and when she visited the country three years ago she was called by the name of the young model and actress. People thought she’s KC and on second look only that they knew she’s not. Well she loves media too and planning to stay here for a while to have modelling stints.

Exciting Theme Parks

Last year I accompanied my little boy to a famous amusement park in the south. He was so happy when he first saw the park and was excited to try all the rides there. He rode in the carousel, train, boulders and swan. He played at the tree house and followed the parade of the EK characters there. He was amazed at the beautiful rides even if it’s for adults only and really enjoyed the whole afternoon of fun. I was thinking how he’s going to handle his excitement if he’ll experience the likes of Orlando vacation packages with Magic Disney World, Seaworld, Universal Studios, museums and the whole fun of being in theme park. I know that will be one great vacation experience for him. Who knows I can save up enough money for that exciting vacation.

"SCHOOL" (Buildings, Children, Uniforms, Buses, Bicycles, Books, Pens and Pencils,..)

These are my kids' school things - notebooks, pens, pencils, bags and other accessories bought from the book store last May for the school opening last June of this year.  Children get very excited when it comes to shopping for their school things.  Since my kids are big enough to have their own choices I let them pick what they want.  I only guide my little boy because he's just a first grader now but I know when he grows old he would be able to get and choose his school things.  Btw the bag is my choice and Josh loves it!

Early Shopping of Cards

Holidays are coming and I know my best friend will start buying holiday cards as early as now. Even if communications and greeting are so easy these days and e-cards are just there for us she still wants to have the regular Christmas cards sent over the regular mail. She said it’s more sentimental to send and receive the old-fashioned card. She’s making it as early as possible because most of the cards she sends are for those relatives they have living abroad and for her siblings in the Middle East and Australia.

Relaxing Place for Me

After I finish my due tasks this afternoon I was hoping that I can rest early evening in our patio. Whenever I look at it I feel some longing to lounge there and read. Sometimes when I want to rest my eyes I just relax myself and chat with my kids. I’m thinking of extending it to the garden and will put some cozy furniture there. Of course I would have to add some nice patio furniture covers to protect it from the heat of the sun, from dirt and rain also. It really relaxes me to stay at our patio and garden so I’m doing my work as fast as I could. Resting and relaxation are some kind of reward for me for a day of hard work. It will be more fun with a cup of my favorite hazelnut coffee and some barbecues.

Missing to Experience the Beauty of Life

Dear Friends and Family,

I wanted to pass this along. It really made me stop to think about my own priorities and to consider the opportunities we are probably missing to experience beauty along the way as we live our hectic lives.

Let's stop to listen to the angels a little more often.

Look and listen for the beauty out there.

Have a great day.
..something to think about...

This is a true story.

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes later:the violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes: A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes:The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.1 hour:He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities.

The questions raised:

In a common place environment at an inappropriate hour, do we

1. Perceive beauty?
2. Stop to appreciate it?
3. Recognize talent in an unexpected context?
4. Stop to receive the gift?

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this:
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made.... How many other things are we missing?

Time for My Personal Things

I’ve been so busy lately that I noticed that I haven’t been shopping for my personal needs lately. I had a series of mini reunion with my college friends and I’ve been thinking of buying myself a new bag. I’ve been much of a homebody lately that the need for those things seems not so important. But now I should remind myself that on my next salary I will take some hours off from work and look for one or two bags for myself. I’m always online so I get to see some beautiful bags on sale like these Fendi zucca canvas I found online. I love getting items on sale because it makes the item affordable but these are still expensive for my budget so I think I’ll wait for some sale items.

Few Days Rest from Work

These past few days had been such a blessing for me and my online friends as we’re given tons of tasks to do. These tasks made us very busy to the point that we’re making night as days also. We hardly had time to relax and sleep normally but we’re not sad about it, in fact we’re so happy because after these little sacrifices we’ll have our rewards. With the work that we’re doing we deserve some break maybe book a Branson vacation package or spend it on a beach vacation resort.

Whatever it is or wherever it may be just as long as we’ll have some time to rest, sleep normally and enjoy the nature without working on our PC. This coming semestral break my cousin was inviting us to spend few days in our hometown province. DH and I are thinking about it and comparing it on our Baguio vacation plans.

Learn From Your Failures

Don't be afraid to fail. Don't waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It's OK. If you're not failing, you're not growing.
                                                                                                                                              -H. Stanley Judd

Failure and success are two things that go side by side with each other. In order to be successful in life you must also learn how to fail. It’s in failing that we strive hard to succeed. It’s like a game that no matter what you do you only have two choices and that is to win or lose. I always tell my daughter Gen that in every game that she joins it’s either she wins or loses so she should accept it when she fails or lose the game.

Should be in Good Running Condition

My brother lends us his other car for our service car in going to church, malls, out of town and to some other places. Currently they’re too busy with their construction business and the pickup is starting to show a defect in battery thus starting up is so hard. DH fixed the car last weekend and we were able to use it again in going to church. In the past few weeks we’re finding it hard to get a cab when going home especially when it’s raining. Taxi drivers tend to ask additional amount aside from the meter reading even if it’s illegal to do it. We’re happy now that we don’t have to wait that long for a decent taxi driver who wouldn’t think of having contract price instead of meter reading.

We just have to make some more fixes, tune up and change oil by the end of this month to regain the car’s good performance. Anyway it’s still cheaper than having a motorhome repairs because our car can be fixed on ordinary shops wherein vehicles as expensive as motor homes deserved a trusted repair shop. Now I’m saving some funds for the car’s general check up at the end of his month. We’re slowly readying it for our December camp meeting fellowship because that will be a long drive and vehicles should be in good running condition.

What Attracts my Little Boy

When I go to shop for foodies I always take my little boy with me because I easily get bored when I’m alone and I want him to pick the ones he prefer for himself. I know my daughters’ preferences and they have the normal and regular foods that they want unlike the little boy who changes brand of foods sometimes. It’s always fun having him with me and he’s very observant with the supermarket’s counter displays. Actually he loves looking at how they design it. It attracts his eyes especially if it contains his favorite biscuits, drinks or chocolates. Maybe that’s the main purpose of having it in the supermarket; it’s there to attract consumers old and young alike!

The Birth Order Predictor

You Are Likely a First Born

At your darkest moments, you feel guilty.
At work and school, you do best when you're researching.
When you love someone, you tend to agree with them often.

In friendship, you are considerate and compromising.
Your ideal careers are: business, research, counseling, promotion, and speaking.
You will leave your mark on the world with discoveries, new information, and teaching people to dream.

I'm a middle child which is supposed to have some kind of trouble sometimes.  They say that middle child is unique in their own ways.  Among my siblings I sometimes act as the first born deciding over things.  My brother was always busy so I take more of the responsibilities when we were younger.  Now that we're all grown ups we share in all responsbilities and expenses.

Long Weekends with the Family

Last week’s holiday gave us long weekends to be with the whole family. I tried finishing my tasks but failed to do so because everyone seems to be so active in the house with the kids playing and us doing our own works. In the morning we’re all busy with computers, school assignments and tasks. It’s in the afternoon that I thought of cooking up champorado, one of their favorite foods in the house where you’ll cook rice with cocoa powder, brown sugar and vanilla or pandan leaves.

We set up our grilling stove and planned to have grilled meat or fish but I suddenly got tired and just fry dried fish for a perfect partner of the chocolate soup. I was thinking that it would be more fun if we have outdoor fireplace at the backyard so we can have some family get together when the afternoon cools down. I saw some nice gel fireplaces that’s easy to use and planned on buying one next month. We love having picnics and eating together so it would be very useful.

Affordable Ultra Sound Test

I accompanied my Auntie in her check up in our municipality hospital. She has returned her ultrasound results to her doctor for further evaluation. Lately she was complaining of her stomach so her doctor gave her recommendation for a laboratory test on the said part of her body. I’ve observed that she’s trying to be calm and relaxed before the test. We waited in line and while waiting I’ve observed that many of our neighbours are employed in the hospital’s healthcare jobs as when they passed by they greet me.

Some who didn’t have enough education related to healthcare were just there to assist the healthcare staff. The hospital is a government-owned and we only paid a hundred fifty bucks for the ultra sound wherein if we had it on regular laboratory clinics it will be doubled or tripled. Anyway my Auntie has a small nodule in her stomach and she’s taking medication now.
