Teas To Avoid During Pregnancy: Learn How To Prevent Problems During Pregnancy

Tea drinking has been a natural part of the tradition throughout the world. Tea consuming is an ancient habit. But to drink or not to drink during pregnancy, that is the question.

To drink or not to drink during pregnancy, that is the question.

Here is some information that hopefully will help you with your decision making around something a pregnant woman needs.

Green Tea and Pregnancy is a common and very relevant topic for expectant mothers and women who are thinking of conceiving. If you love your green tea like  most do, you will have to make a decision about whether to drink green tea during pregnancy, be it in moderation or not at all.

Most practitioners will tell you to err on the side of caution and to avoid caffeine or cut back on your caffeine intake to a "moderate level". The definition of moderate varies anywhere between 150mg - 300 mg.

But that again can be somewhat misleading. How much caffeine is in a cup depends on the type of tea and the strength of the brew. Flushing out the first brew will eliminate some of the caffeine content so that may help somewhat. If you are in any way concerned, eliminate caffeine from your diet while you're pregnant. If it's hard to do it cold turkey, cut down on it slowly

First and foremost, Green Tea contains caffeine, so keeping that in mind, consumption should be limited accordingly during pregnancy.

How does green tea affect my pregnancy and baby?

l  Caffeine is a stimulant and diuretic:

As a stimulant, it increases your blood pressure and heart rate, which is not recommended during pregnancy. As a diuretic, it increases the frequency of urination which may cause reduction in your body fluid levels leading to dehydration.

l  Caffeine crosses the placenta to your baby:

As an adult, your body may be able to handle the caffeine you consume, but your baby's metabolism is in the growing stages and it can be difficult for the fetus to metabolize the caffeine.

l  Caffeine causes infertility

Some studies have shown the link between high levels of caffeine consumption and infertility.

l  Caffeine causes birth defects

Studies on animals have shown that caffeine causes birth defects, increased risk of low-birth weight and preterm delivery. However, the studies are inconclusive.

l  EGCG may reduce folate levels

Green Tea Pregnancy Research has also shown that high levels of Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) that active compound found in green tea may reduce folate levels.

The study showed that women who drink high levels of green tea during conception and pregnancy many place the fetus at risk for neural tube disorders. Neural tube defects such as spina bifida are usually associated with folic acid deficiency.

In fact herbal tea, such as Chamomile tea, sage tea, parsley tea, teas with aloe, coltsfoot, juniper berries, pennyroyal, buckthorn bark, comfrey, labrador tea, sassafras, duck roots, lobelia and senna leaves should be avoided during pregnancy.

Chamomile tea has been popular for use as a soothing tea. This tea can be helpful in relieving upset stomachs and sleeping disorders. It sounds like something a pregnant woman needs. Sleeping problems and nausea frequently affect women during pregnancy which could result in the conclusion that this tea is good during pregnancy. But, this is not the whole story.

The herb chamomile is part of the Aster family. The FDA has included it on a list of herbs generally regarded as safe. There is one word of caution if you are allergic to ragweed, daisy flowers or plants in the Aster family, you should avoid chamomile whether or not you are pregnant!

Treats With Vanilla

If you're looking for a frozen treat that is a but healthier than ice cream, then consider frozen yogurt. There are many flavors that are available, but vanilla frozen yogurt is one that will offer the most options when it comes to the toppings that you can add. It's also a good flavor to have on hand if you operate a frozen yogurt business as it's one that many customers tend to enjoy.

One of the benefits of using vanilla is that you can turn it into any other flavor or any other creation. It's ideal for using at a birthday party as you can set out bowls of toppings, such as candy pieces or fresh fruits, so that guests can make their own special treats. This also works in a business as customers can use a cone or bowl to make their own creations without worrying about definite items that they have to use with the yogurt.

Turn your frozen yogurt into ice pop by putting the yogurt into a mold and adding a few pieces of fresh fruit or even candy pieces. You can transform your vanilla yogurt into a fun treat on a stick, making it a soothing delight for a hot day. Another idea is to put the frozen yogurt between two cookie pieces to make a sandwich. You have probably ate ice cream sandwiches, but if you use sugar-free cookies or those with low fat, then you'll have the same treat as you would with fewer calories.

Another idea is to make a pie with the yogurt as a filling. You could drizzle chocolate syrup on top or combine the yogurt with other ingredients that are blended in for the entire filling of the pie. The yogurt will usually give a lighter texture to the pie and can stretch some of the ingredients that you have on hand if you're looking for a sweet treat but don't have everything that you need. Once everything is combined, you can freeze it until the pie sets so that you have a frozen treat to enjoy at any time.

Beneficial Qualities of Water

Water is good for our body and in its purest form it can give you proper nourishment and minerals that our body needs to complete the nutrients. It is also known to cure and heal several sicknesses using water therapy. There are plenty of healing benefits and advantages of drinking several glasses a day even to women who need to lose some pounds. Did you know that you can survive a day without eating foods but not without water? Simply because water is life to us. You should know these simple facts about water because it can lead you also to living a healthier lifestyle.

If water is kind of a miracle thing to our health it can also be destructive if it’s not clean or purified. We all know that drinking unclean water can give you sickness instead of good health. I’ve known a lot who develop a certain sickness because of drinking water direct from the faucet without purifying it in any form. It’s important that before you drink water you should know how your stomach will react with water that you’re not sure if purified or not.

Now you cannot just be careful with the water that you drink but be cautious also in using it to wash and bath because there are unfiltered or unclean water that can give you skin itch, dry skin and coarse hair. This can be solved though with the use of  shower head filter which can give pure water when taking a bath. It has the high quality filter to eradicate chlorine, lead, chloramines, iron and harmful contaminants from the water that you drink and bath with daily.

The shower filter stops the iron and rust from entering the filter thus it helps to prolong the life of the shower filter. With this taking shower is not that damage-causing as it is sometimes. Now you can enjoy taking a shower at your home without thinking how much your hair will become brittle, hair color fading out and skin getting dry.

Enjoy Life..Enjoy Coffee

If there's one thing that I must have in the morning even if I'm busy is a creamy coffee.  When I started having healthy meal diet I gave up sweets, fats and some other meats but I can't apply it on my coffee.  I'm thinking that If I'll take away my morning coffee it's as if I'm not enjoying my life.  Anyway if it's only coffee that I didn't gave up maybe it's forgivable as I drink decaffeinated and I only add less than a teaspoon of sugar.  I want to enjoy my life and I will not be able to do this without my favorite cup of steaming aromatic creamy coffee every morning.  Also I'm a breakfast person and my breakfast will not be complete without it :)

Slimmer and Healthier

My brother dropped by last week and I realized I haven’t seen him for weeks now. Sometimes we just see each other on the road but he’s busy enough to drop by the house and talk. I noticed that he has slimmed a lot and his tummy is not that big now. Actually he looks so healthy and fit. I really thought he has read the oxyelite pro reviews because I know he has taken some fat burner in the past but he told me he has taken on a natural diet.

He’s taking oats, lean meat and cut down his sweets, sodas and rice. Now I’m inspired by his discipline and control that I’m determined to continue my own diet with additional tips from him. He’s spending some of his time in the treadmill and basketball while I’m going to be active more on my workout and Tae Bo exercise. We’re going to be slimmer and healthier.

Balancing Food Intake

With the numerous occasions that passed last month and the current birthday of my kid I really have to think twice if I’m going to continue with eating too much cakes and desserts. I have to minimize sweets and rice or I will have to look for the best weight loss supplement to help me with losing excess pounds. Actually rice is not a problem to me as I can eat a no-rice dinner but for chocolates I think I’ll have to make it an exception. Anyway I eat plenty of fruits so that would balance my sweets. I just have to discipline myself to have my regular workout exercise and to exert extra time to prepare a different meal for myself. Busy schedule won’t help my diet so I have to plan and schedule ahead my tasks so I won’t be as busy as before.

HCG Diet

I’m again taking a brave step towards shedding excess pounds for health reasons. I started yesterday with the no-rice meal diet during dinner and happy that I can do it again. It was my fear that I’ll have difficulty getting back to my healthy meal regimen but determination helped me. I’m actually used to having no rice last summer but when I started taking so many online works my eating habit changed and my health suffered. Now I know I should take a forward step into it because I don’t want to see myself regretting that I should have done it earlier.

As for other diet support I’m still thinking if I need one like the hcg injections I browsed online which is very effective but has some risks when injected improperly. Patient can get bruises, sore or cysts so there are other options available which has the same effects as this one like oral hcg which must be refrigerated and injectable but when mixed with certain acids can be absorbed through mouth just like other oral supplements. This is the better option for those who feels awkward with injection but both forms are of the same effects.

They also have this hcg diet which helps to eliminate abnormal fat first and corrects the metabolism of the patient. We all know that metabolism plays an important role on how a person can easily shed off or gain excess pounds. This will help the patient maintain their bodies after the weight loss program. All patients who have undergone a weight loss program should maintain to have a well balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry and meat. Our body needs all these foods and we must refrain from eating fatty foods. Drinking water often is a plus factor too because it eliminates fake hunger too.

My Cousins’ Secret

My Mom’s birthday was like a reunion for me as I long to see my dear first cousins in Laguna and I was surprised that even though they’re a lot older than me their skin is still supple and wrinkle-free. I was thinking if they’re using a cream like prevera but they said aloud the answer to my thoughts. They were not using any cream and they were just eating plenty of fruits and vegetables because their doctor advised them not to eat pork as much as possible. So that’s their secret. Now I’ll continue with my cleansing meal plan so when I reached their age my skin will not look old and possibly wrinkle-free.

Walking Without Feeling Tired

I saw my picture in my nephew’s 7th birthday and I noticed that my quick weight loss diet has been effective so far because I look less heavy than I was last month. I’m now in my third week of no rice lunch and dinner. I’m filling up my meal with fruits, veggies and small amount of meat. I found out that I can feel very full when I eat fruits and a glass of water before I even start to eat my meal. I also feel lighter and stronger. I can walk fast 2 kilometers without feeling tired and I like it because I used to feel that way years ago when I walk to and from my shortcut way to my subdivision office. Well feeling this way at 40 is really great! I should keep my healthy diet!

Morning Exercises and Biking

I’ve done enrolling my little boy in his new school for primary education last Thursday. We also fitted his uniforms and he’s excited to show my Mom that he has new set of uniforms very different from his preparatory school uniforms. I was very tired when we reached home as I’ve done some errands too. With the kind of activities I’ve done for the day I think I’ll have no problem with losing some excess pounds now and if I do this everyday I think I will not be having Lipofuze as exercise and walking really makes some wonders with me.

I’m planning to join DH and kids in their daily morning biking in our municipality town hall compound. DH told me that I will enjoy it. Actually I’m planning to play badminton too! Well this will keep the whole family fit and healthy!

One Week Trial Achievement

Wow I’ve finished my first six days of abstaining rice on my lunch and dinner. Of course the results are not noticeable at this time but I feel a lot better than last week. Actually it feels like I’m using the most effective diet pill because I feel light and healthy. Well it’s only one week now since I started it and I’m very positive with the following weeks.
For now I’m not much into getting slim but of being healthy. I’ve been feeling a little weak for the last past weeks and MIL advised me to have cleansing diet. Though I haven’t done the real and strict cleansing diet I’m doing part of it by taking rice on breakfast only and the rest of my meals consist of veggies, fish and fruits. With these foods I combine plenty of water. On Monday I’m going to reduce my rice on breakfast maybe a half cup will do.

Limiting Rice on My Meals

I’m on my 3rd day of abstaining rice on my diet during lunch and dinner time. I still have to decide if I’m going to give up my breakfast because I’m a morning person and I can’t start a day without having full breakfast. Many say that breakfast meals are fine because I can lose them all up on my activities the whole day. But I’m working on that yet and for the meantime I’m taking half servings only. My friend talks about this hcg diet she read online but I’m still keeping on my original plan and that’s getting on my healthy meal diet.

Actually I can survive without too much rice as I can eat as much fruits and vegetables during lunch and dinner. I’m taking pineapples before lunch time so I’ll be full enough not to want some other food aside from veggies. On dinner I eat a different vegetable recipe and a slice of papaya and pineapple. On other days I’m taking apples at night. Now I’m taking notes of some other fruits that are good for cleansing bad toxins so when I start on my real cleansing diet I’m ready with my supplies. I hope I can keep up with my plan.

Perfect Foods for Weight Watchers

After I’ve cooked a 6-kilo pork hamonado recipe for our weekend church service DH told me that it’s delicious and perfect in his taste. I got a ‘wow’ from my family too so to pay them back for praising my menu I promised them a repeat performance today so they can feast on it. Actually it’s a simple recipe only but you have to be cautious of the blending of taste. From my ingredients of pineapple, brown sugar and cheese you’ll know that it’s a combination of salty, sweet and sour. Well the final taste of pork hamonado is really good though the rolled one is much better.

Anyway with this viand it’s hard to stick on your diet meal plan as it contains sugar and cheese plus the fact that it’s pork. If I’ll do it often I guess I will be searching for the most effective weight loss pills because I’ll surely be gaining pounds from eating this kind of food. Now I have a resolution that after this day I’ll have my own meal for a week and I’ll stick to veggies and fruits just like the past month. I’ve proven these foods to be the perfect meals for weight loss. I’ll do it not only to be slimmer but to be healthy as well. I know I’m not getting younger and I should really watch what I eat to prevent being overweight and to avoid getting sick.

Regaining My Health

These past few days I feel sudden pain in my chest and I easily get tired when I work. I know from the past that every time I gained so many pounds this pain occurs so I started my healthy diet again. Together with this diet I started some exercises also that are good for the heart and for my stamina. When I go to school to visit my kids I walk either going to or from the school, it somehow brings back the strength of my heart, feet and my body’s resistance. It’s my favorite exercise way back then and when I stopped walking my minimum 3 kilometers a day I felt lazy and weaker.

I should have noted that I can’t go on without my daily exercises and I’m sure that’s the reason why I feel so sick these past few days. Being overweight is another thing as the holidays had doubled up the pounds that I’ve lost before December last year. Well I’m hoping that I can get back to shape and strength with my new health plan. I’m glad that I don’t have to take diet pills like liporexall for now as I’m so determined to lose excess pounds and regained my healthy body. I’m extra careful with what I eat now, actually I’m having fruits and fish this lunch.

Caring for My Teeth

Back to work now and back to school also for the kids. I’m still sick from over fatigue but I’m glad that I can still work for few hours because my mind is full of ideas from the holiday activities. Last month was a real hectic month for me as that’s my birthday month, our high school silver alumni, our church camp meeting fellowship and of course the holiday season. I felt bloated with lots of dinner, parties, get together and camping but will start my healthy meal plan next week.

It’s time to check out my dentist again for a return schedule for my dental checkup. As my teeth are not straight my dentist is suggesting some solutions on how to make my teeth more beautiful and presentable. I’m asking for fixed bridge quotation which is really expensive but can remedy my dental disorder but I saw another solution just like I saw from Orange NJ invisalign which can align teeth without pain. I’m really saving some of my hard-earned money for my teeth as it’s one of the most important parts of our body; it affects health and the way you deal with other people. I still have one month to decide and I hope I’ll be able to choose the better solution for me. I don’t want to grow old with weak teeth.

Healthy Diet

My Mom commented on me that she noticed my big tummy is decreasing slowly. I was happy that since I disciplined myself on eating plenty of fruits everyday I began to lose weight. Of course it’s not that rapid because if you‘re dieting the healthy way you’ll lose pounds slowly. For me it’s more acceptable as it’s safer that way and less expensive than taking slim pills. When I gained weight after resigning from office and started working at home I thought I’ll need those pills. I was just lucky that I discovered a healthier food plan that I was spared from taking them.

Drink Only Safe Water

We’re so glad that everything went back to normal again after two weeks of different problems in power, internet connectivity, some problems in other food supplies and sometimes not so clear water coming from the faucet. These problems were all due to the storm that hit the country. Suddenly people are aware of having emergency lights, extra batteries for flashlight, some food stored for the rainy days and water filters to assure them that they drink clean waters. As for us we only order purified drinking water to our trusted source because it’s cheaper than maintaining our own and our source has one of the best water filters in town.
