Outdoor Home Decor Lightings

We love staying at the patio or at our terrace in the house but when it's dark outside we never stay late there as it's not so conducive to chatting and bonding.  We don't want to stay in a place where the lightings are not enough to create a cozy and warm ambiance.  Well I've seen plenty of light effects on some of the houses that my brother has built and I can say that these lights are a lot different from what I saw.

These clusters of light located in patio corners are ideal lights for the outdoor area in your house where you can feel the warmth of the golden shades of light, just enough to make your stay worthwhile and pleasant.  At first I thought that it's a DIY project only but when I took a closer look I realized it's meant for patio corner's lightings to bring some life into the corner of the patio.  And life indeed because the lights in the image above added attraction and respect also.

Saw these bubble caged glass lanterns from potterybarn.com.

Pirate Ship Playhouse

Source: hammacher.com via Race on Pinterest

My little boy saw this and he loves this and imagines playing in their school play as a pirate. This school year they were trained and taught different roles to play. He played as a politician, engineer, fireman, street boy and many other roles. He excitedly played them all and got good grades. With all of those plays we did some really hard to do props like fire truck, car, armor of God and a lot more.

His Dad contributed a lot in his school works arranging all costumes and things to use and even spent over nights. Anyway Josh just told me that this pirate playhouse is really cool and nice to play with his school friends with pirate costumes of course. Boys are boys and they really are excited over playing things they see on movies. Now if you're ready to play in this playhouse get ready with your costumes.

Plans for New Bedroom

I’m excited by the plans hubby has made for the construction of a new bedroom for us. Since we’ve renovated our ground floor last year to make way for Ruth’s debut we haven’t planned where to construct our new room. Our old bedroom was removed and turned into a new dining area which was suggested by my brother since it has a not-so-nice vibration. It was found out that it stands on an old septic tank and according to Feng Shui it should not be made a sleeping area as the area should be open to invite a good ambiance. True enough blessings came pouring in when the old room was removed and now the open room seems very cool and has a friendly ambiance.

Now we’re eyeing the area at the top of our kitchen since it’s the only area in the house with no upper floor. We’re going to save for slab and hopefully we’re going to start the construction next year. Since it’s a big area we’re planning a big room with extra space for my growing up boy’s musical instruments. He really wanted a separate room for the instruments so we’re saving some space for his request. Lately he’s been looking frequently at an online shop for piano music and for some of his most wanted musical accessories and instruments, wondering when he can buy some of the stuff there. Well for now he can’t buy all those things but maybe in the next few years we can invest on some.

Green Thumb for Gardening

Mom always has a green thumb in planting any flower, tree or plant in our garden and backyard. Every single thing that she plants grows abundantly. Since she’s old now and we don’t want her to do any task in the house she concentrates her time on gardening with the help of my husband who does the hard tasks. She would smile every time she sees a bud that blooms and a root that produce stems.

She loves gardening so much that I want to give her some nice garden gifts as I know she’ll appreciate it so much. She’s been telling me few days ago that maybe we should buy more pots so she can distribute her growing flowers on different places. Her enthusiasm is infectious as my husband is into gardening too much to my surprise. Just imagine my astonishment that after 20 years of marriage he’s learning the gardening skills. His brother is a landscaper so maybe he’s got talents too.

How to Save Big Money When You Update Your Bathroom

Your bathtub or shower is an integral part of your home. Calling it an essential fixture for maintaining your wellness would not be overstating its importance. A shower wakes you up for the day. A bath relaxes you so that you can enjoy a good night's rest. A dingy fiberglass shell or grungy tile, however, will kill your sense of renewal and the perception of cleanliness. Remodeling your bathroom will solve that problem, but, if you lack a big budget, you'll have to look for alternatives.

Focus on the Tub

Your shower enclosure or bathtub wears down faster than other fixtures in your bath because of repeated and prolonged use. Even if you don't change anything else, a fresh bathtub will spruce up the space considerably. The most affordable way to get a tub that looks like new is have the finish restored.

With bathtub reglazing Atlanta homeowners can gain rapid results. Specialty companies focus on this service that will save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

What is the Process?

A reglazing contractor will strip away caulk and thoroughly clean every surface. An acid etching and wet sanding process will prepare a porcelain surface to receive a new finish. Then a primer coat and finish color will be applied. Other materials, such as fiberglass and tile, can be renewed with similar approaches.

Benefits of Reglazing

The speed with which a new surface can be achieved will be attractive to you. Instead of having your bathroom torn apart and out of service for a week or more, a reglazing job can be done in 48 hours. With this service, you'll also get to skip the hard work of demolition and disposal of old fixtures. Your monetary savings will continue to mount because you're not buying a new tub or altering any of the plumbing.

The final finish will be durable as well. A 15-year lifespan is a reasonable expectation. Perhaps the best part is your choice of colors. You'll get to ditch out-of-date colors like mauve or avocado green and get a tub in a modern color. Instead of seeing a messy old tub every day, your newly finished tub will improve your mood.
