Two Tiring But Happy Days

It’s been a very busy week for me as we have two birthdays in the family this week. Ruth had her birthday last Tuesday and my sister Redge on the following day. Since I’m the official cook of the family I cooked for two days for their birthdays and also for our hosting in our weekly bible study. All in all I was really tired and my feet were aching due to prolonged standing. That’s the common sickness of cooks.

After two days I find myself resting and napping despite numerous tasks online. After all I really want that much-needed vacation which I promised myself last month just like my friend’s Vegas vacations last year. She’s staying with her sister in NYC but went to Vegas for some fun. She always wanted some recreational activities and vacation.

:Thursday Challenge - Curved (Office Desk)

"CURVED" (Roads, Buildings, Shapes, Bowed, Arch, Bubbles,...)

Well I have here an office cubicle and front desk table for an entry. Modern offices seems to use every space available that's why they have many curves to maximize areas. Anyway the purpose is not merely to maximize but for good presentation also as it looks very nice and corporate.

Josh Loves Books!

Josh is so fond of reading books, magazines and everything that he has in his school things’ cabinet. I place and store all of his school books, notebooks, writing pads, crayons, pencils and every items connected to his learning studies and we call it school cabinet. It’s good to have just one cabinet for all his items in school so even little items won’t be hard to find when needed. Now that he’s going to turn 6 next month I’m reviewing some books for additional reading and learning materials for him as I find it a waste not to give Josh as much books as he want as he really wants it.

He excels in his class not because of being a genius type but I think more of the high enthusiastic level that he has. Anything that he’s not familiar of he makes it a point to study. He always recites in their class and seemingly knows all of the lessons easily. He’s very patient and organized when it comes to studying and he wants to prepare his scheduled everyday. Now we’re reviewing some phonics book not for the school assignment but for his satisfaction only. He just loves books.

Ruth Turns 12!

It's my eldest kid's birthday today and now that she's 12 I'm beginning to accept that it's her last year of being a little girl as you can see she's a big girl now. Next year she's gonna be a teen and I'm preparing myself for the changes that comes with entering teenage years. Now I'm enjoying Ruth's company as my future heir in cooking :-). I can see her flair with cooking just like me when I was her age, I'm beginning to think that interests can be inherited too.

At her age she's beginning to show signs of interest in computer and writing, actually she's also a blogger now but asked me to keep it secret so I will not discuss her site here, she's currently making some changes on it. In school she joined the journalism class and I'm so happy that she finally had the courage to join because at first she's a little hesitant.

Anyway as a Mom I wish her the best of everything, healthy body, mind and spirit with God as her guide always. I always told her that whatever worries or problems she may encounter in the future I'll always here for her as a friend, sister and a mother.

Outdoor Relaxation

On a sunny and warm afternoon it’s nice to go outside your house and spent the lazy afternoon lounging in your favorite chair. Sometimes you just want to rest, relax and read something that interests you. Others find it worth their while if they spend a good weather afternoon with a picnic in their backyard or garden.

Having something to share with your family is something to look forward to. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a barbeque picnic or just plain snacks with chips. As for me if I’m to be given plenty of time I’d like to spend my day on a place near the beach or if it wouldn’t be possible a cozy lounging in outdoor pillows by the pool will do. A swimming resort can also be a respite from all the pressures of hectic life. Yes a day on a resort be it a beach or just a simple resort with swimming pool can bring lots of relaxation for me.

:Today's Flowers #53 - Pinkies!

I've chosen simple pink flowers for my entry this week which is one of my favorite color of flowers following white blooms. I've always loved the soft petals of pink blooms be it roses, orchids, boungainvillea or any other pink blooms that grows in our garden. Know what reminds me of pink flowers? It reminds me of my debutante days, you know the pink gown, pink hair accessories and pink roses, that's what 18th birthday is like - surrounded with pink.... For me like white flowers it exudes innocence, simplicity and the essence of being a woman.

Happy Monday! Visit more beautiful flowers at Today's Flower => here.

Safe Place to Spend Family Day

It’s nice to spend your day outdoors especially on a nice sunny day. I always see families spending their rest days on river parks or other parks wherein you can play your favorite sports like softball, volleyball, basketball, badminton and other sport hobbies. It’s also a kind of bonding for the family wherein you can leave your worries at work and just spend great time with your hubby and kids.

I’ve always love doing this thing as it also refreshes my being physically, emotionally and mentally. It’s an ideal thing to do when you want your family to have some time outside your house but sometimes going out is not so good on your health if the place you frequent doesn’t have fresh air, most of the place in the city actually is not so conducive to kids’ health. If only we can have some air filters outside like what we do inside our house wherein we can filter airborne allergens to have a fresh indoor air. Since it’s impossible to have it outside we just have to choose the place to spend our family day, we can choose places in the countryside to play safe.

Real Cute Baby Beddings

I was having fun this morning with the little babies here in our compound, there were three babies here, two boys and one girl but only two of them are my grandniece and nephew, the other one is the son of our tenant. Babies are joys in every family and when there’s one inside a house you’ll be sure that the baby will somehow lighten a bad mood or prevent the family from breaking up. I forgot there’s another one coming out in October and that’s from my niece. As early as now my niece and her hubby were busy preparing for their little princess and preparations include buying baby clothes, baby accessories and Baby Bedding Sets. Actually they were thinking where to buy beautiful bedding sets for their baby girl.

Since I only know places I frequent during my pregnancy I just searched online and browsed sites that can help us find some real cute baby bedding sets and other baby items. Look what I’ve found! A designer lady bug nursery baby crib bedding 12 pc. set at BabyBeddingPalace.com for only $99.98. It’s complete with a crib bumper, crib quilt, crib skirt, fitted sheet, diaper stacker, decorative pillow, toy organizer and window valances. There’s more as they also have bonus gift for each package. What’s good in their product is the high quality of these baby crib bedding sets which is made from 100% cotton. Beddings are 100% hand made and non-allergenic so it’s perfect for our precious little ones. There are various designs available for boys and girls and they even have unisex bedding for those who want to play safe with colors. All I can say is they’re all cute, nice gift idea too!
