Tips for Choosing the Best Rug for Your Space

Rugs are a part of interior decorating that don't get a lot of thought, but are more important to the tone of a room than you'd think. While it's hard to notice if a rug has been chosen correctly, it's easy to notice when a rug is wrong for the space. So how does a layman decide which size and type of rug is best for where they live? Follow a few simple tips to make the job easier.

What Do You Want?

First thing is first, sit down and decide what exactly you want your rug to do, and what space it will work in. Is it supposed to define the focal point of a large room? Provide atmosphere with a burst of colour? Which colour works best in the room? Size matters particularly in this case, measure your space and decide on how much of it you want the rug to fill before you start. Consider all the factors, for example a dining room rug must be allow for the chairs to be pulled out without damaging the edges or catching and causing irritation. Do some thought before you even step foot in your local Rugs A Million to browse your options.

First Concern Space

If you're working with a smaller space then it is wise to consider the type of tones you want. If you want the room to seem more spacious then a light soft neutral tone will accomplish that goal. However if you want to the rug to make the room seem cosy then a deeper colour is important. In a larger space then a bold defined colour can break up the space and show a centrepiece while neutral tones make the space seem open and free.

Second Concern, Feel

What tone do you want your room to have? This is important particularly in choosing the rugs size. A large rug topped with furniture gives a casual air to the space while a small rug in the centre of the room surrounded by furniture gives a polished, formal atmosphere that is good for entertaining guests. Patterned rugs will make the room feel more unified, as it will anchor the colour scheme if chosen correctly.

Third Concern Colours

Colour matching is a pain for anyone. It may be tempting to go with a simple black or white to match any colour and that is a good choice, however accenting a colour that exists in a small way in the room, for example the dominant colour in a painting on the wall, can draw the eye to an item that you're proud of. If you want to go the easy way, match or compliment the dominant colours of the room.

The rug can often provide a finishing touch to a space that makes it feel lived in, elegant, homey or natural and picking the right rug for your feel is important. Sit down, figure out what you want, and don't settle for anything less.

Tips for Finding the Right Hotel

Staying in hotels is stressful for many people because they worry that the room will not be clean enough or the travelers will not be taken care of while there. When you are looking for Cape Cod hotels, you can do a few things to make sure that you know exactly what to expect when you stay in a hotel. You can then make a choice about which hotel you would like to stay at, and there is no need to be nervous when you get there.

The Search for a Room

After you decide what area you need to stay in, you can start looking for a hotel in the area. There are many sites that will allow you to search the availability and prices of hotels in the area while setting some parameters for what you want. For example, you can put a limit on how much you pay or how many stars the hotel received. Doing so will narrow your search so that you do not have to waste your time looking at hotels you will not stay in. When you look at a potential hotel to stay in, consider a few things.

First, look at the rating the hotel received. Most hotels will be rated on a scale of one to five stars, depending on how clean the hotel is and other important factors. If you are looking for a nicer hotel, you can skip hotels that received one, two, or three stars. Next, look at any reviews the hotel received. These reviews will be from people who have stayed in the hotel before. They can tell you about their experience and what to expect. There will always be people that exaggerate or have a unique experience, but look for trends in the reviews. When multiple people say the same thing, you can usually trust that it is the truth.

Booking the Hotel

When you book your Cape Cod hotels, make sure to get the right days and the right type of room (smoking vs. nonsmoking, number of beds, etc.). Ask how much you will be paying overall and if there are any extra deposits or fees. Know when they will charge your card.

How to Choose an Extended Stay

When you’re in the middle of a move, your home is undergoing renovation, or you’re traveling in a city for a long period of time, you might consider an extended stay in Lubbock, TX. An extended stay apartment is a cross between a studio apartment and a hotel room. There are laundry facilities and a kitchen in the building, and you can take advantage of hotel security and maid services. Plus, you may get Wi-Fi and access to swimming pools and fitness centers. In short, it’s a large, homey hotel room.

What You Need and Want
To decide on which extended stay hotel to visit, you must first consider your wants and needs. How long do you intend to stay there? What is your price range? Do you need to rent a car when you’re staying in the city? Where would you prefer to be located? What amenities do you seek? Are swimming pools and workout centers a must? Would you like a voicemail service? How many bedrooms do you need? Are you bringing a pet with you? Make sure you make these considerations so you can narrow down your list to the appropriate hotel.

Process of Choosing

Now it’s time to explore your options. Go online and search through popular brands and chains of hotels. Browse their websites to see what an extended stay entails. Various hotels have different ideas of what an “extended stay” means. Some hotels will allow you to remain there for less than a week. Other hotels believe that time should be longer to qualify as an extended stay. Most chains will tell you that 2 weeks or longer equates to an  extended stay in Lubbock, TX

Remember to explore the features of the hotel and see what spaces and amenities are available to you within your price range. Take into account all expenses to know what each stay at a certain hotel would cost you. Then call or meet with hotel personnel to negotiate rates. Remember that you should get a special price if you’re doing an extended stay, particularly if you are part of a major company or a corporation. When you check out, look over the bill to see that you were charged the rate you agreed on.

Home Decor Ideas Using Decorative Quilt Bedding

Decorative quilts are becoming a big favorite with homeowners who are looking for more creative possibilities in the décor of their master bedroom. One popular decorating idea is to pair the pattern of a decorative quilt with the curtains in the room. A long, flowing pair of curtains in a matching pattern adds visual harmony to the space. Look at some other interesting ideas that involve a decorative quilt.

Some homeowners choose to pair their decorative quilt and bedding with the carpeting or rug in the master bedroom. For example, they may get a rug in a color that coordinates with a color in the quilt. The coordinating colors add a sense of organization and appeal to the bedroom's décor. Plus, the owners can incorporate that color elsewhere in the room. The throw pillows on the bed or a lampshade can all follow the color theme set by the bed's quilt.

Another decorating idea that's picking up steam with homeowners is to paint the walls of their master bedroom in a color that complements their quilt. It may be a color that serves as an attractive background for the quilt or perhaps it is a lighter shade of a color within the quilt's design. Either way, the walls of the room can help to enhance the appearance of a beautiful decorative quilt. If you're looking for a quilt to brighten up to look of a master bedroom, you may want to peruse the selection of decorative quilt bedding at QuiltsnQuilts.com.

Flowers and Plants for the Not So Green Thumb

Having an attractive and healthy array of plants is not just for people with green thumbs. Many plants and flowers that do well in Brisbane landscaping are easy to grow and tolerate a wide variety of weather conditions, as well as the occasional period of accidental neglect. Selecting from these flowers and plants will help turn your property from one that is devoid of greenery to one that is lush with color and life.

Ground Cover

Lamb's ear (Stachys byzantina) offers a silvery gray colour and is perfect as a ground cover or a border plant for situating alongside paths and walks. It prefers full sunshine but in hot climates, will do well with a little afternoon shade. It is a perennial plant that will come back year after year and requires little in the way of maintenance.

Border Plants

Day lilies are a flowering plant that work well as a border plant also. They will naturally propagate themselves and fill into other areas, making these a frugal option for those on a budget. Dead-heading the wilted blossoms encourages more flowers to grow. Lilies come in colourful shades of yellow, orange, pink and red. Hostas are another easy to grow border plant. These leafy green beauties thrive in shady areas and produce dainty purple flowers mid-summer. Succulents also make ideal border plants. Aloe vera is a multi-purpose plant, as its leaves can be harvested and the liquid inside used to treat burns and other skin problems.

Shrubs

Shrubs are an essential component of Brisbane landscaping. Easy to care for varieties include azaleas, which produce lovely springtime flowers and require little care other than an annual pruning. Russian sage is easy to grow, smells heavenly and produces tall purple flowers on its woody stems. As the plant matures, it becomes shrub like. These plants spread out and grow tall, so they need some room all the way around. They are not finicky about soil type and do well in moist as well as dry conditions.

Flowers

The French marigold (Tagetes patula) sports clusters of colourful flowers in shades ranging from pale yellow and orange to deep red. It will grow in any soil type and needs just occasional watering. The greenery is lush and vibrant. Another easy to grow option is the Shasta daisy (Leucanthemum X superbum). It sturdy stems make it a candidate for cutting and bringing into the home for decoration. The colourful blooms come in shades of white and yellow and are complimented by blue-green foliage. Lavender is another multi-purpose plant. In addition to its wonderful smell and beautiful flowers, its flowers can be harvested and used in sachets or in the bath for a relaxing soak.

Choosing Carpet Cleaners for Your Home and Office

When my office transferred location few months ago I was responsible for almost all transactions and services needed for moving. It was like moving your home to another place, same task and never-ending needs. I needed to make several letters of moving out, clearing and transferring from our current location to new office. Because we’re inside a big building everything should be coordinated with the building’s administration and security officers. It was like never-ending letters and requests but after so many tasks we finally moved to another office. The new office posed another problem because it’s smaller and I have to think and design the floor plans apt for the space provided for.

Before we even moved in we repaired and redesigned the new office in accordance with our existing office furniture and equipment aside from our intended look for our new office. I also searched for the carpet cleaning company that would give me best services without spending too much. There are many options but I chose the best area rug cleaner like Green Choice Brooklyn carpet cleaning which provides one stop solution for cleaning services like deodorizing, cleaning and restoring the carpet’s appearance of office and residential carpet flooring. They have skilled technicians that provide professional skills, experience and eco-friendly cleaning techniques to solve all your carpet cleaning requirements.

Sweetie Ruth is now 16

At 16
Younger!

My Ruthie has turned 16 today, the age they calls 'sweet sixteen' and from her pics above I could say she's just not sweet but very nice as well.  Actually when I looked back some of her pictures from younger days she hasn't changed much (just look how she maintains her cheeky smile).  I always joke her that her face stays the same throughout the years....she's still the same cute, pretty and full of cheeks girl who always hugs and kiss me.

She told me that she'll never stop hugging me until she's old.  We had an advance celebration yesterday and I'll talk about it some other time as we're so happy about our lunch-dinner date together with the whole family.    We enjoyed our bonding time together and I pray
